    Abstract: A bleed air control valve includes a pneumatic actuator operable to drive rotation of a closure disk, a connecting rod, a shaft, and an actuator fluid supply passage. The pneumatic actuator includes an integral filter and pressure regulator unit disposed in line with the actuator fluid supply passage. The actuator fluid supply passage provides communication between an inlet side of the flow control duct and at least one pressure chamber. The integral filter and pressure regulator unit has a cylindrical regulator cavity in selective communication with a cylindrical vent cavity. Filter media is secured to the pressure regulator unit and disposed across at least one of a regulator inlet orifice and a regulator outlet orifice. A regulator nozzle has at least one regulator port providing selective communication between a vent cavity and a regulator cavity.

    Abstract: A bleed valve system includes a bleed valve, a valve regulator, a valve actuator and a reverse flow relief valve. The bleed valve is opened and closed to control a flow of bleed air from an upstream inlet to a downstream outlet. The valve regulator provides a servo pressure used to regulate the position of the bleed valve, and the valve actuator is mechanically connected to open/close the bleed valve based on the servo pressure provided by the valve regulator. The reverse flow relief valve compares a pressure upstream of the bleed valve to a pressure downstream of the bleed valve and in response to the downstream pressure exceeding the upstream pressure creates a fluid communication path between the servo pressure and an ambient pressure to decrease the servo pressure such that the bleed valve is closed.

    Abstract: A mallet for use by a percussionist for playing a percussion instrument. The mallet comprises an elongated shaft having a first head and a second head at opposite ends of the shaft. Each of these heads is used to produce a musical tone when struck against a percussion instrument. The shaft includes a first shaft portion proximate the first head and a second shaft portion proximate the second head. One of the first and second shaft portions is of greater thickness than the other shaft portion. The first head is made of a fibrous material, e.g., felt cover, for striking the percussion instrument. The second head is a non-fibrous material harder than the fibrous material, e.g., plastic, for striking another percussion instrument. When the percussionist strikes one instrument with the first head, the second shaft portion is held and when the percussionist strikes another instrument with the second head, the first shaft portion is held.
