  • Patent number: 8059621
Abstract: A controlling device such as a remote control has programming for transmitting a signal response to a plurality of control environments, each environment including a signaling device. Each signaling device in receipt of the signal request sends a signal response having a unique ID which is chosen to be characteristically attenuated by the surroundings of the environment. Because the controlling device can only be in one environment at a given time, and given the attenuation characteristics of the signal response from each signaling device, only one signal response will be received by the controlling device in each environment. Location definitions associated with the received unique ID may be used by programming in the controlling device to recall saved devices states, commands sets, macros, and even to dynamically generate commands based on the location information.

  • Publication number: 20040144222
Abstract: A power saw attachment comprising a compound measuring guide, a cross cut measuring guide, a sliding fence, two adjustable looking pieces, a base, mounting brackets, at least one tripod stand and a portable power saw. The present invention may be used with any appropriate power saw including, but not limited to, radial arm saws and miter box chop saws. An accurate cut is made by first attaching the chop saw attachment to a saw. Next, the sliding fence is moved to the desired measurement and the sliding fence is locked into place. The desired material to be cut is then placed onto the power saw attachment with the base of the material positioned against the locked sliding fence and backstop. The material is then cut at the desired length.

  • Patent number: 6429697
Abstract: A multi-stage, low-offset, fast-recovery, comparator system and method for: reducing the input offset voltage of the zeroing amplifier by a factor essentially equal to gain of the zeroing amplifier; reducing the input offset voltage of the combined main and zeroing amplifiers by a factor essentially equal to the product of the gains of the main and zeroing amplifiers; and amplifying the input signal to the amplification stage in accordance with the gain of the main amplifier to generate an amplified high-resolution signal.
