  • Patent number: 8147519
Abstract: A spinal rod connector is disclosed that allows end-to-end connection of at least two spinal rods. The connector may allow for angular adjustment in the construct which is associated with the patient's anatomy. Percutaneous length adjustment of the spinal rods may be available with visual assessment of the length of the rods via viewing windows on the connector. A locking mechanism may be used to fix a determined angle of the connector dependent upon the anatomy of the patient. The angle may be adjusted if necessary during a subsequent procedure.

  • Publication number: 20090182384
Abstract: The present application is directed to embodiments of a pedicle screw assembly to position an elongated member within a patient. The assembly may include a receiver with a channel sized to receive the elongated member and a chamber. The assembly may also include an anchor with a head sized to fit within the chamber. The assembly may include a compression member sized to fit within the chamber and include a first side that contacts against the head and a second side that contacts against the receiver. At least one of the receiver, anchor, and compression member may be constructed of a first material, and at least one of the receiver, anchor, and compression member may be constructed of a second material. The first and second materials may include different moduli of elasticity to prevent deformation of the assembly.

  • Patent number: 7509769
Abstract: A holder for an outrigger is disclosed which has a housing for mounting the holder on top of a structural part of a boat. The holder can be rotated in a horizontal plane to various fixed positions by means of a rotatable, retractable handle positioned below the structural part of the boat. The weight of the holder is taken by in internal structure of the housing, such that, during rotation to another position, the holder weight is not transferred to the handle; thereby making it easier to rotate the holder.
