  • Publication number: 20060222828
Abstract: The present invention foregoes use of PVC in printable media and instead provides a lightweight recyclable display media comprised generally of a printable coated scrim. The display media includes a base layer or scrim comprised of a polymer material and formed by woven, non-woven, or knit sheet-forming techniques. A non-vinyl body coating is applied to the base layer to add stiffness, body, and printability to the media. The body layer is comprised, at least partially, of urethane, acrylic, or blended urethane/acrylic materials. These materials add body and durability to the base layer without presenting the environmental difficulties attributable to PVC. The non-vinyl body coating may further comprise ink receptive materials or fillers that enhance ink retention in the media. The display media may be printed through a variety of printing techniques known in the art.

  • Patent number: 6665748
Abstract: Apparatus and method for providing DMA transfers between an adapter card with or with out DMA capabilities and a system CPU with DMA capabilities. An adapter DMA controller circuit resides between the system CPU and the adapter card. This adapter DMA controller allows the system to run in immediate mode which allows the system CPU to talk to the adapter card as if the adapter DMA controller was not there. The system can also run in DMA mode. In this mode the system CPU sets up the system DMA controller and the adapter DMA controller. The adapter DMA controller takes over sending or receiving data to the adapter card and then requesting a DMA transfer with the system DMA controller. The transfer of data between the adapter DMA controller and the adapter does not use any system CPU resources such as the data and address busses. The system CPU is free to use the system resources to continue operation.

  • Publication number: 20020171556
Abstract: A sensor detects skewed adjacent movable components. The sensor may be used to detect harmful skews of aircraft control surfaces, such as slats or flaps on aircraft wings, which may be caused by an actuator disconnection from the surface it drives. Harmful skew, which is a relative asymmetrical motion of control surfaces beyond a predetermined limit, is detected by the sensor, but the relatively smaller harmless skew caused by normal flight is ignored. The sensor comprises first and second arms connected to a common base that may be attached to a first control surface. A constraining means such as a mechanical fuse holds the arms together while a separating means such as a spring exerts a separating force on the arms when the fuse breaks. A switching means is integral to the two arms. A striker pin on a second control surface strikes the first or second sensor arm when the relative motion between the control surfaces exceeds a certain predetermined limit.
