  • Patent number: 9002082
Abstract: An apparatus and method for a PET/MR system having a PET scanner and an MR scanner. A patient may be advanced through the system in sequential stations, with multiple transverse slices defined within at least one of the stations in which each slice is offset a distance ?z from the station centerline. The method may comprise the steps of: defining a center and an annulus thereabout for each slice, wherein the annulus has an inner radius Reff and an outer radius Rout; conducting attenuation correction of the PET images using only MR data from the region within the inner radius, only PET data from the region outside the outer radius, and a combination of PET and MR data from the region of the annulus; and varying Reff as a function of ?z for selected slices within the station.

  • Patent number: 8166586
Abstract: A removable pallet configured to be mounted to a patient table. The patient table has a table surface adapted to support patients thereon during a medical procedure or imaging session. The removable pallet includes a support body having a runway configured to slidably engage a transfer board carrying a patient. The support body extends along a longitudinal axis and is configured to be mounted over the table surface of the patient table. The removable pallet also includes a coupling device that is configured to removably couple the support body and the patient table. The coupling device secures the support body over the table surface to permit the transfer board to be moved onto the patient table.

  • Publication number: 20070131858
Abstract: A method for correcting emission data from Positron Emission Tomography (PET) or SPECT includes generating a plurality of computed tomography (CT) image data, selecting a portion of the CT image data, processing the selected CT data to generate a plurality of attenuation correction (CTAC) factors at the appropriate energy of the emission data, weighting the CTAC factors to generate an emission attenuation correction map wherein the weights are determined based on the axial location and the slice thickness of the CT data and the axial location and the slice thickness of the PET or SPECT data, and utilizing the generated attenuation correction map to generate an attenuation corrected PET image.
