Publication number: 20120292238Abstract: A piston pressurized water filter activated by the user or external source. The water filter assembly includes a hollow cylindrical water reservoir, a hollow cylindrical piston threaded into the top of the water reservoir, and a water filter threaded into the bottom of the water reservoir. The interior of the water reservoir is sealed by the piston and water filter. When the water reservoir is filled with unfiltered water, the piston can be threaded down into the water reservoir to create sufficient pressure on the unfiltered water and force the water into the water filter. The water filter can include any combination of carbon, ceramic or other filtering material in a block or disk form. Water is forced into the water filter, through the carbon or ceramic filter mass, and into a container that may or may not be coupled to the water filter.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 2, 2012Publication date: November 22, 2012Applicant: INSTAPURE BRANDS, INC.Inventors: William Scott Wright, Bradley J. Publication number: 20120263288Abstract: Mechanisms are disclosed that allow for the use of a false background, or background tone, in voice input in a telephonic call. A voice input may have both voice from a user talking and a background noise input which may be every other noise received at the user's phone. A trigger to use a background tone is received, the background tone is selected and the associated background tone file is retrieved. Then, a combiner combines the voice input with the background tone file. A filter may be used to filter the actual background noise from the voice input. Additionally, background tones may be used in various telephonic networks, including traditional land-line and wireless cellular networks.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 22, 2012Publication date: October 18, 2012Applicant: AT&T MOBILITY II LLCInventors: Joshua Scott Wright, Paul Humphries, Jeffrey C. Publication number: 20120145031Abstract: The present invention has been developed to improve the way a payload support platform, such as a mole, is driven between one site and another, particularly when the second site is the interior of a Lift which interfaces with a Pallet Handling System (PHS) of a ship. In a first aspect the invention proposes that the driving means which drives the payload support platform along a rail (10) is also used to move that rail (10) relative to the payload support platform and a support rail (22) so that the position of the rail can be changed during the movement of the payload support platform between one site and another. The payload support platform is lockable to the support rail (22), such that the force which drives the payload support platform along the rail (10) changes to driving the rail (10) relative to the support rail (22).Type: ApplicationFiled: May 7, 2010Publication date: June 14, 2012Inventors: David Scott Wright, Matthew Evans

Publication number: 20110128010Abstract: A microdischarge-based pressure sensor that includes an anode, two cathodes, a drive circuit connected to the electrodes, and a measurement circuit that permits sensing of transient current pulses flowing through at least one of the electrodes. One of the cathodes is interposed between the anode and other cathode, and it includes a central opening which permits a microdischarge to occur between the anode and each cathode in response to applied voltage pulses from the drive circuit. Changes in relative current between the two cathodes are indicative of changes in ambient pressure in the microdischarge chamber. In other embodiments, a sealed chamber can be used with one of the electrodes acting as a diaphragm which deflects based on external pressure and changes its inter-electrode spacing, thereby altering the relative cathode currents.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 28, 2010Publication date: June 2, 2011Applicant: THE REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGANInventors: Yogesh Gianchandani, Scott Wright

Publication number: 20050102164Abstract: A method and apparatus for the selection of oral care chemistries by a consumer from a plurality of available options. An oral care selection advisor first requests information from a consumer regarding their oral care preferences. The oral care selection advisor then selects a classification of chemistries from among at least two available classifications corresponding to those oral care preferences. The information is then displayed from the oral care selection advisor identifying at least one chemistry within the selected classification, allowing the consumer to identify the chemistries corresponding to the consumer's oral care preferences.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 15, 2004Publication date: May 12, 2005Inventors: Patrick Healey, Scott Wright, Louis Viltro

Patent number: 6826913Abstract: The present invention is directed to a fluidic system and method for controlling the airflow to a lean premix combustor. The system and method as disclosed allow for reduced power, which results in reduced emissions, while at the same time providing excellent performance. This is accomplished through the use of fluidic means, which do not have the problems associated with hot moving parts of prior art mechanical means. Specifically, the introduction of an airflow downstream from openings in the dilution section cause a local boundary layer separation forcing air into the dilution holes.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2002Date of Patent: December 7, 2004Assignee: Honeywell International Inc.Inventor: E. Patent number: 6513318Abstract: A gas turbine engine includes, in flow series arrangement, a mixer, a compressor, a first flow path of a recuperator, a combustor, a turbine and a second flow path of said recuperator; and a bypass conduit between said turbine and said mixer. A valve is disposed in the conduit and is controlled by a temperature sensor mounted to sense compressor inlet air temperature. The sensor has a set point temperature that corresponds with optimum emissions from the engine. When the sensed temperature drops below the set point temperature the valve opens and hot air from the turbine flows to the mixer where it heats the air entering the compressor. A method for operating a gas turbine engine with preselected emissions over a range of ambient conditions is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: November 29, 2000Date of Patent: February 4, 2003Assignee: Hybrid Power Generation Systems LLCInventor: E. Patent number: 6071097Abstract: A single-piece piston for use in a pneumatically-activated pump to meter a predetermined amount of lubricant or other liquid. The piston has a grooved end that includes a head portion and a circumferentially-disposed angled channel for containing a sealing member such as an O-ring. An adjacent stem section includes a longitudinally-disposed channel that is in fluid-flow connection with the angled channel. The piston is disposed within a chamber of the body of the pump. Lateral movement of the piston within the body causes the sealing member to shift and block and unblock the end of the longitudinal channel which allows liquid from a liquid chamber to flow into a slot and to a pump chamber adjacent to the head of the piston's grooved end.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 1997Date of Patent: June 6, 2000Assignee: Oil-Rite CorporationInventors: Donald G.
