Abstract: A transaction verification system is disclosed comprising one or more processors and one or more non-transitory computer-readable mediums having processor-executable instructions stored thereon. The processor-executable instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, facilitate receiving transaction data corresponding to a transaction between an account holder and a merchant, wherein the transaction data includes a transaction amount and identifying information for a payment account of the account holder. The instructions further determine whether the merchant associated with the transaction data has been previously verified and compare a spending limit associated with the payment account with the transaction amount. The instructions further update a record associated with the transaction data to indicate whether further verification is needed.
