  • Patent number: 8775277
Abstract: The present invention provides a method, system, and program product for validating invoices for transactions between trading partners that occur across jurisdictional borders such as inter-country or inter-state transactions. Specifically, under the present invention, an invoice corresponding to a transaction between trading partners is electronically received for instance in an invoice processing system. Upon receipt, a purchaser tax jurisdiction and a seller tax jurisdiction corresponding to the transaction will be determined. Based on these jurisdictions and a set of categorization rules, a category of the transaction is determined. Using the category and a set of validation rules, a tax rate indicated on the invoice and other optional aspects, such as whether the invoice contains all required information will be validated. Based on this validation it will be determined whether the overall invoice is valid or invalid.

  • Publication number: 20100250405
Abstract: A method, system and program product for identifying redundant invoices. The method includes providing an accounts payable system having an invoice table that contains invoice data inputted from vendor invoices, executing an algorithm with the accounts payable system for identifying one or more redundant invoices among a current group of invoices chosen from the invoices inputted into the accounts payable system, where the algorithm identifies the redundant invoices among the current group of invoices using each of six redundancy criteria analyzed by the algorithm and outputting a perceptible report containing a separate section corresponding to each of the six redundancy criteria analyzed by the algorithm for identifying redundant invoices among the current group of invoices inputted into the accounts payable system, where a redundant invoice that is reported in one section of the perceptible report is not reported in another section of the perceptible report.

  • Publication number: 20090112743
Abstract: A system and method for reporting according to the EU VAT related legal requirements and, in the preferred embodiment, within SAP environment is described. Because the report will aid in legally required reporting for EU VAT, it will also aid in the avoidance of penalties that may be legally imposed for non-compliance to EU VAT rules. This invention will also allow for better reporting and improved EU VAT Reclamation process. The present invention provides for data collection of EU VAT related invoice transactions made electronically based on additional fields which are provided in SAP. Additionally, a new report is created and is run based on input criteria.

  • Patent number: 7076492
Abstract: A system and method for generating a report by a reporting tool of the Systems Applications and Products (SAP) online financial software. An SAP-readable Aspect file is generated and transmitted to the SAP system where the Aspect file may be queried for generating the report. The Aspect file may be generated by a non-SAP bridge program that utilizes a dataset which may be in a SAP or a non-SAP format. Processing the dataset to generate the Aspect file may include data filtration based on selection rules, and may additionally include rolling up the data of the dataset. Two or more of such datasets may be collectively used to form corresponding Aspect files for generating a report based on a query that relates to the corresponding Aspect files. The Aspect file may include procurement data such as purchase order data and invoice data.

  • Patent number: 7003494
Abstract: An accounts payable system in which invoices submitted by electronic data interchange (EDI) are audited for duplicate invoices prior to them being entered into the production database, or environment. Pre-processor logic audits, identifies and returns electronically duplicate transmissions. At this pre-processor level, all inbound invoices are sorted in credit/debit sequence. Invoices are posted (committed to the production accounts payable environment; that is, to the accounts payable data base) one at a time so purchase order history is current for each evaluation. Inbound invoices are sorted by credit/debit. Only debits are audited.

  • Patent number: 6928411
Abstract: Invoices for goods purchased under a pricing strategy of goods receipt base invoice verification are processed. A matching tool performs a logical three-way match between invoices, and a database tool having goods received receipts and purchase orders.
