  • Patent number: 9708740
Abstract: A washing machine having a balancer housing capable of transmitting electric power from an external power source to a balancing module. The washing machine includes a rotary drum, and a balancer to counterbalance an unbalanced load generated in the rotary drum. The balancer includes a balancer housing mounted to the rotary drum, and a balancing module having a moving unit to move inside the balancer housing. The balancer housing includes an electrode provided at an inner surface of the balancer housing in a circumferential direction thereof in order to transmit electric power to the moving unit of the balancing module, an electric wire electrically connected to the electrode in order to apply electric power from an external power source to the electrode, and a connector provided at an outer surface of the balancer housing in order to electrically connect the electric wire and the electrode.

  • Patent number: 9389262
Abstract: A fault detection device includes an interface electrically connected to an electrical instrument to transfer commercial power to the electrical instrument, transmit a command for driving one of a plurality of loads included in the electrical instrument to the electrical instrument, and detect current flowing in one of the plurality of loads of the electrical instrument; and a terminal configured to receive a current signal corresponding to the current flowing in one of the plurality of loads from the interface, determine whether the one load has a fault on the basis of the received current signal and display whether the load has a fault. A faulty load is determined by detecting current of only a load suspected to have a fault when a fault is generated in the electrical instrument so as to improve fault detection accuracy.

  • Publication number: 20120075755
Abstract: An electric device includes a plurality of loads and an arc fault detection device to output arc signal detection information when an arc signal has been input from a wire harness connected to the plurality of loads. A method includes sequentially supplying, when the arc signal detection information has been input from the arc fault detection device, Alternating Current (AC) power to each of the plurality of loads during a preset time, and detecting a load at which an arc fault has occurred from among the plurality of loads. Thus, a location (load) at which an arc fault has occurred is correctly detected, thereby appropriately coping with (repairing) the arc fault.
