  • Patent number: 8815758
Abstract: The present application relates to a silica-based nonflammable material and to a method for preparing same. More particularly, the application relates to a silica-based nonflammable material which contains silica, limestone, and albite as main ingredients, which is obtained by a series of processes including grinding, melting, spraying, and molding, and which can replace asbestos, as well as to a method for preparing same. As functional building materials which are nonflammable even at high temperatures can be prepared using silica-based nonflammable materials consisting of silica-based minerals, and as only natural minerals may be used as main ingredients. The materials used as building materials may not be harmful to the human body and can replace asbestos that has been widely used as a conventional building material for thermal insulation, soundproofing, etc.

  • Patent number: 8506702
Abstract: The present invention relates to a manufacturing method of manufacturing lightweight construction materials using sludge waste, more specifically to a manufacturing method of manufacturing lightweight construction materials using the sludge waste which is manufactured by adding feldspar, bentonite, zeolite, loess, mica and agalmatolite to sludge waste and the lightweight construction materials manufactured thereby. According to the present invention, lightweight construction materials can be manufactured which are environmentally friendly by recycling waste sludge, can reduce energy consumption by simplifying the processes, and have superior strength and water permeability by mixing specific inorganic materials.

  • Patent number: 8470087
Abstract: The present invention relates to a production method for a lightweight construction material using asbestos waste, and more specifically to a production method for a lightweight construction material using asbestos waste in which the production takes place with the addition of loess, silicon carbide, a zeolite and half silty clay to asbestos waste, and relates to a lightweight construction material produced thereby. By adding silicon carbide, loess, a zeolite and half silty clay to asbestos waste, the present invention has the advantageous effect that construction materials can be made lighter in weight without the asbestos component being detected, and an environmentally friendly lightweight construction material can be produced which has outstanding strength, thermal insulation properties, forming properties, water-absorbing power and water-retaining ability.

  • Patent number: 8414827
Abstract: The present invention relates to a porous lightweight iron and a method for preparing the same, and more particularly to a porous lightweight iron having decreased weight due to pores formed therein while having a strength similar to that of existing steel products; and a method for preparing a porous lightweight iron having desired properties or various properties according to intended use. As described above in detail, according to the present invention, the thickness, weight and strength of lightweight iron to be produced, can be controlled, thus making it possible to prepare porous lightweight iron having desired properties by controlling the sintering temperature during the preparation process, the mixing ratio of diamond or silicon carbide and the mixing ratio of raw materials.

  • Patent number: 8227364
Abstract: The present invention relates to a porous planting medium containing minerals and a method for preparing the same, and more particularly, to a porous planting medium prepared by using bentonite and/or zeolite and minerals for promoting plant growth as raw materials and a method for preparing the same. The porous planting medium containing minerals according to the present invention can provide places where plants can grow due to the pores therein and create the ideal environment for plant growth due to minerals used therein. Also, since it is installed in a building with plant seeds germinated therein, it can provide effects of interior decoration, wood bathing due to anion generation and a pleasant interior environment.
