  • Publication number: 20060185398
Abstract: A method for fabricating a multimode optical fiber preform having a longitudinal uniformity is provided. The method of fabricating includes performing a plurality of radial deposition passes using a thermal source while inserting raw materials into a glass tube. A reference chemical core shape index is set to determine a refractive index profile of a preform section. A core shape index distribution of each longitudinal deposition pass varying in a longitudinal direction of the glass tube is set such that an error of a reference chemical core shape index distribution in the longitudinal direction of the preform defined by the reference chemical core shape index is compensated for and such that a uniform chemical core shape index is obtained in the longitudinal direction. Deposition is performed while an amount of raw materials corresponding to a preset chemical core shape index is inserted in each longitudinal deposition pass of each radial deposition pass.

  • Publication number: 20060077716
Abstract: A row decoder circuit of a NAND flash memory and method of supplying an operating voltage using the same. To prevent an operating voltage (e.g., a program voltage, a pass voltage, or a read voltage) from being abnormally transferred to a gate of a memory cell because a pumping voltage is applied to a gate of a high-voltage pass transistor of the row decoder circuit in a level lower than a target voltage, the pumping voltage is first applied to the gate of the high-voltage pass transistor (i.e., precharging the gate of the high-voltage pass transistor) and next the operating voltage is applied to a drain of the high voltage pass transistor. Thus, the pumping voltage becomes higher than the target voltage due to a self-boosting effect through the structure of transistor, enabling the operating voltage to be normally transferred to the gate of the memory cell.

  • Publication number: 20050163452
Abstract: A plastic optical fiber and a method for producing the same is disclosed. The plastic optical fiber is formed as a fiber of core-cladding structure. A protective layer or shield layer may be provided on the outer surface of the optical fiber of core-cladding structure for improving thermal resistance of the optical fiber and protecting the optical fiber from air and moisture. The plastic optical fiber uses fluorinated plastic, which contains a rare earth component as a core material, and a cladding material, which does not comprise a rare earth component but essentially consists of a polymer chain, which essentially consists of bonded —[CF2]n— monomers and has a refractive index lower than that of the core material. The optical fiber is produced by a melting-drawing technique.
