    Abstract: The present invention relates to the genomic sequence and to nucleotide sequences encoding polypeptides of Photorhabdus luminescens. The present invention further relates to polypeptides involved in operons involved in the biosynthesis of antibiotics or toxins, as well as polypeptides with activity of the antibiotic or toxin. Uses of the aforementioned polypeptides in pesticides, bactericides, or fungicides is provides. In addition, the present invention provides vectors, cells, or animals containing the sequences of the present invention.
