  • Patent number: 10286344
Abstract: A fluid filter having a filter canister, a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, filter media, and a pressure sensitive valve assembly is described. The pressure sensitive valve assembly comprises an orifice surround, a pressure relief spring, and a valve plug comprising a valve head and first and second retention legs. The first and second retention legs of the valve plug are spaced apart from one another, extend from a leg base positioned at the sealing side of the valve head to a distal end of the retention leg, and comprise respective seating regions, tapered transition regions, and clearance regions. Each of the respective seating regions comprises a spring engaging hook structurally configured to receive a seating portion of the pressure relief spring. The pressure relief spring is compressed between the orifice surround and the spring engaging hooks to bias the pressure sensitive valve assembly towards the closed state.

  • Patent number: 9884273
Abstract: A fluid filter assembly is provided comprising a filter can, a filter cover assembly, and an interior filtering assembly. The filter cover assembly comprises an outer cover plate and an inner mounting plate. The outer cover plate of the filter cover assembly comprises a drawn-down portion that descends toward the interior volume of the fluid filter assembly and exhibits a metallic grain structure that is stretched relative to the metallic grain structure of the inner and outer circumferential mating portions of the outer cover plate. In one embodiment, the inner mounting plate is secured to a backside of the outer cover plate such that, upon rotational engagement of the internal threads of the inner mounting plate with a threaded fluid port, the inner mounting plate rotates with the filter can and the outer cover plate to advance in an axial engagement direction and forcibly urge the outer cover plate in the axial engagement direction from the backside of the outer cover plate.

  • Publication number: 20160369906
Abstract: A relief valve assembly is structurally configured such that a valve seal plate moves relative to a relief valve body from a closed position to an open position when a bypass fluid pressure on a valve seal plate exceeds a bypass threshold of a centering spring. The centering pin of the relief valve assembly includes a spring seat and a pin terminus The relief valve body, relief valve seal plate, centering pin, and centering spring collectively form an extension stop and a transitory centering pin portion. The transitory centering pin portion lies between the spring seat and the extension stop in the closed position, and between the extension stop and the pin terminus in the open position. The centering spring is compressed between the spring seat and the extension stop and engages the spring seat and the extension stop omnidirectionally about a longitudinal axis of the centering pin.
