  • Publication number: 20190235923
Abstract: Among other things, there is coordination of the timing and execution (a) of allocations of amounts of real-world resources to competing uses of the resources, relative to (b) dynamic assessments of an overall state of a changing real-world system, in order to alter the overall state of the real-world system. A request is received for an allocation of an amount of a real-world resource of the real-world system to a particular use of the resource as of a particular allocation time. From time to time, information is ingested representing states of facets of the real-world system, to maintain the information current relative to the particular allocation time. A current overall state of the real-world system is dynamically assessed, based on the current information representing states of the facets of the real-world system, as of a time that is current relative to the particular allocation time.

  • Publication number: 20160232546
Abstract: Among other things, there is regularly received through a communication network from providers of financial products or from an aggregator or both, current information about transactions that occur in accounts of consumers of financial products that are maintained with providers of the financial products. The received current transaction information is stored in a database of information about the respective consumers. Machine learning is applied to the stored transaction information and other information about the consumers in the database to generate model profiles of transactions in accounts of corresponding categories of consumers for corresponding financial products. As current information about transactions is received, transactions that have occurred in the accounts of the consumers of the financial products are analyzed using the model profiles for the applicable categories of customers and financial products.

  • Publication number: 20060133096
Abstract: An emergency light for providing illumination during emergency conditions with a housing, a light source, and a drive arrangement for driving the light source between retracted and extended positions. Flanges, which can be removable, can project from the housing. Fastening arrangements each comprising a mounting bolt in combination with a locking clip can retain the emergency light in relation to a support surface. A motor in combination with a drive screw threadedly engaged with the light source can form the drive arrangement to produce an axial movement of the light source. A limit switch can sense a position of the light source, and a reflector can guide light from the light source. An emergency condition sensor can trigger an extension and illumination of the light source. A battery can power the light during a power failure. Plural lights and a central control unit can form an emergency lighting arrangement.

  • Publication number: 20060129090
Abstract: An infusion set for subcutaneous delivery of an infusant. The infusion set may include a base removably attachable to an infusion site and a connector temporarily lockable to the base. The connector can engage the base in a plurality of orientations. The connector locks into the base after at least partial rotation of the connector about the base. The connector may include flexible arms which unlock the connector from the base. The base includes a cannula for insertion through the infusion site. The connector includes a tubing for passing the infusant. The infusant is subcutaneously passable from the tubing through the cannula when the connector is attached to the base. The infusion set may also include a hub removably attachable to the base that includes a needle that extends through the base and the cannula and a guard removably attachable to the base opposite the hub for surrounding the needle.

  • Patent number: 6978517
Abstract: A low-profile, durable mounting clip for holding personal devices. The mounting clip may have an essentially inverted “L” shaped configuration including a foot portion having engagement elements for attachment to corresponding engagement elements on a housing of a personal device. A leg portion provides for attachment to an undergarment or other suitable article of clothing. A heel portion located between and connecting the leg portion and foot portion allows the foot portion to flexibly and durably retract from the housing. The mounting clip may include a snap tab beam locking mechanism having a barb for interlocking with a bump provided on the housing or a rotatable cam locking mechanism having one or more radial snap tabs having engagement elements for engaging corresponding surfaces on the mounting clip. The mounting clip may have an essentially inverted “C-shaped” configuration including a first foot, a second foot, and a leg portion.
