Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an extraction device and a method of using the same. The extraction device has a tube, a dipstick, and a dipstick receiver cap. The tube has a first open end and a second open end generally opposite from the first open end. The dipstick is configured to be inserted into the tube at the first open end. The dipstick has one or more features at a first end. The one or more features are configured to retain a predefined amount of collected material in which the dipstick is inserted prior to inserting the dipstick into the tube. The dipstick receiver cap is removably coupled to the tube at the second open end. The dipstick receiver cap includes a first projection configured to engage the one or more features to substantially remove the predefined amount of collected material.
