Patent number: 11578853Abstract: Disclosed is an enhanced infinity mirror with an application interface for controlling and/or changing the illumination, reflection, and/or other effects produced by the enhanced infinity mirror. The enhanced infinity mirror may include a first reflective surface, a second reflective surface positioned relative to the first reflective surface, and light sources that generate an infinity effect based on reflections off the first reflective surface and the second reflective surface. The application interface may receive a pattern, and may control illumination of different sets of the light sources at different times according to the pattern by illuminating a first set of the light sources with first colors for a first duration as defined in a first step of the pattern, and a second set of the light sources with second colors for a second duration as defined in a second step of the pattern.Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 2022Date of Patent: February 14, 2023Assignee: Portal Infinity Mirrors, Inc.Inventors: Sean Conrad Stephens, John Walter Sanders

Publication number: 20220386073Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method to present events relevant to the user on a map. The system obtains an indication of a user's location, and a predetermined threshold indicating a distance between the user and an event. The system obtains events that are relevant to the user. Based on the user's location, and the predetermined threshold, the system determines a second set of events based on the events, where an event in the second set of events is within the predetermined threshold away from the user's location.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 5, 2022Publication date: December 1, 2022Inventors: Emily Schu, Danish Aziz, Sean Conrad, Jesse Erin Berns

Patent number: 9375568Abstract: To protect an airway of a patient, it is important for the patient to be able to swallow and cough effectively. To promote an effective cough or swallow, electrodes are positioned upon skin of the neck of the patient, the electrodes configured for both capturing electromyographic (EMG) information, and for transmitting a stimulating electrical signal to the body. A microphone is positioned upon or near the neck to capture audio information emanating from the body of the patient. Software analyzes the EMG and audio information to identify an attempted or needed cough or swallow, and causes the electrodes to apply an electrical stimulus to the neck of the patient to produce a more efficacious cough or swallow. An additional microphone can be positioned to capture ambient noise, so that such noise can be reduced in the audio information of the first microphone.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2013Date of Patent: June 28, 2016Assignees: University of Florida Research Foundation, Inc., The United States of America as represented by the Department of Veterans AffairsInventors: Teresa Elizabeth Pitts, Donald Clementz Bolser, Warren E. Dixon, Sean Conrad McCoy

Patent number: 9042992Abstract: An airway of a patient is protected from intrusion of contaminants by monitoring muscles of the patient to detect an attempted cough or swallow, and applying an electrical stimulus to the neck of the patient, varying amplitude and/or frequency over time, the applied electrical stimulus operates to promote an efficacious cough or swallow. The electrical stimulus induces a voltage within a range of greater than zero volts and less than 20 volts, and the frequency have patterned changes between at least about 4 Hz to not more than about 30 Hz. The monitoring is carried out by an electronic device, and the patient may indicate to the electronic device that a swallow or cough is impending.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2013Date of Patent: May 26, 2015Assignees: University of Florida Research Foundation, Inc., The United States of America as represented by the Department of Veteran's AffairsInventors: Warren E. Patent number: 8521565Abstract: A system for facilitating patient ownership of his or her medical data through the use of third-party health repositories that preserves the maximum information content of the medical records by displaying information relevant to the authority of the medical data as reflected by its source and types of modification as it has moved between institutions, as well as the data itself. In this way, improved use of this data is made possible.Type: GrantFiled: August 20, 2012Date of Patent: August 27, 2013Assignee: Epic Systems CorporationInventors: Judith R. Faulkner, Carl D. Dvorak, Brian M. Weisberger, Janet L. Campbell, Timothy W. Escher, Dustin L. Gage, Sean Conrad, Bhavik Shah, Michael J. Kantor
