  • Publication number: 20060264079
Abstract: A holder for an electronic device is provided. The holder accommodates a variety of electronic devices, each electronic device having a different form factor. A rotatable, spring loaded pin is included with the holder. The pin has projections that extend distally from the pin and intersect a graduated base member. When the pin is rotated, the projections move along the graduated base member so as to cause the pin to protrude more or less into the pocket of the holder. This rotation and corresponding pin protrusion height allows the cradle to accommodate electronic devices having different form factors, while providing a support that is fully captured or enclosed by the assembly of the accessory.

  • Publication number: 20060111076
Abstract: A holder for an electronic device includes a cradle, or receiving section, for an electronic device, and a coupling section for coupling to an accessory. The receiving section has a bottom and at least three sides, and is capable of accommodating an electronic device like a cellular telephone. The sides project from the bottom at a presentation angle of between 45 and 90 degrees so that the electronic device is easily viewable by a user. The coupling section includes a concave, semi-hemispherical member suitable for coupling to round, convex objects like hands free and speakerphone accessories.

  • Publication number: 20050205737
Abstract: A cradle for receiving an electronic device is capable of coupling to devices having different form factors. Multiple latches, each having a common mechanical connection mechanism to the common base, are provided for accommodating the multiple form factors. Each latch includes a clasp for coupling to the electronic device. In one embodiment, the latches include clasp arms of varying lengths to accommodate the multiple form factors. In another embodiment, the latches include geometrically dissimilar clasps for coupling to the multiple form factors. The latches are detachable from the body. When one latch is coupled to the body, the cradle is suitable for receiving an electronic device having a first form factor. When that latch is decoupled, and a second, different latch is coupled to the body, the cradle is suitable for receiving an electronic device having a second form factor. As such, a single base may be used with multiple electronic devices simply by changing latches.
