    Abstract: Distributed energy resources are validated by dispatching a distributed energy resources individually in known ambient conditions and monitoring the particular effect of dispatch to then establish a database of performance for multiple different distributed energy resources. The distributed energy resources can be permanently monitored to further build up this database and to verify that the distributed energy resource 1s performing consistent with its validation or other expected performance. Distributed energy resources of a slow responding variety and a fast responding variety can be paired together and dispatched together, so that the paired fast responding and slow responding distributed energy resources mimic a large fast responding distributed energy resource. The benefits of a high capacity fast responding distributed energy resource is thus provided, such as for the load shedding and grid support benefits thereof.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for enabling an operator of a load facility to nominate a specific level of load curtailment into an auction or scheduling mechanism of an independent system, transmission, or distribution system operator (ISO). A load operator manages demand requirements for a subsequent day using a user interface, which in one embodiment provides a view of expected demand, curtailment bid, and backfill planning on an hourly basis. Demand curtailment bids are communicated to the power transmission system operator. Accepted bids are displayed on the user interface. In embodiments, the power transmission system operator communicates curtailment instructions to the load facility to manage process scheduling and/or on-site generation capabilities to effectuate demand reduction.

The vessel includes a housing, a cargo or payload area within the housing, one or more control fins attached to the housing, a ballast within the housing, an expandable and contractible container configured to receive a clathrate and maintain a minimum amount of pressure on the clathrate within the housing in proximity to the ballast, and an intake valve coupled to the ballast. The clathrate changes state, thereby changing the buoyancy of the glider, and causing the glider to move through the body of water.

    Abstract: A buoyancy system includes a chamber having a volume associated therewith, and bladders within the volume of the chamber. Each bladder contains a clathrate mixture in a liquid state. The chamber includes an opening to allow surrounding water to circulate within the volume and contact the bladders. As the chamber is submerged in the surrounding water, the bladders expand based on the clathrate mixture changing from the liquid state to a solid state. This changes buoyancy by allowing less water to circulate within the volume of the chamber.
