Patent number: 11949447Abstract: A wireless communication system includes a network manager configured to wirelessly communicate with a plurality of wireless nodes of a wireless network. The network manager and at least one wireless node include a transceiver connected to transmit and receive wireless communication via an antenna. The network manager and/or the wireless node include a cognitive engine configured to receive information regarding an environment of the wireless network as input and, in response, generate configuration data as output. Subsequent communication on the wireless network is updated using the configuration data.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 2019Date of Patent: April 2, 2024Assignee: Analog Devices International Unlimited CompanyInventors: Andre Wolokita, Lance Doherty, Sean Williams, Gina Aquilano, Michael O'Brien, Cornelius O'Mahony

Publication number: 20220417576Abstract: A method of assigning advertisements to slots in video channels of a bundle of channels provided to an end user. The method includes managing credits, for each specific channel of the channels, indicative of a difference between a number of advertisements provided by an owner of the specific channel that were displayed on other channels and a number of advertisements provided by owners of other channels displayed on the specific channel In addition, scores indicative of a predicted success of the advertisement with the end user are calculated for a plurality of advertisements. An advertisement to be displayed to the end user is selected responsive to a function of both the calculated scores and the managed credits.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 27, 2021Publication date: December 29, 2022Inventors: Ron Gutman, Noam Koren, Yuval Fisher, David Martinez, Sean Doherty, Nam Hung Ly

Patent number: 10069823Abstract: Indirect access control is performed between a requestor computing device and a requestee computing device. Peer data is transmitted from the requestor to the requestee that asserts that the requestor is trusted by a peer computing device. It is verified that the requestor has a first degree of trust with the peer. Next degree peer data is received from the peer that asserts that the peer is trusted by a next degree peer computing device. It is verified that the peer has a next degree of trust with the next degree peer. A trust score is calculated for the requestor based on the verification of the peer data and the next degree peer data, and an access level is granted to the requestor based on the trust score.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 2016Date of Patent: September 4, 2018Assignee: Symantec CorporationInventors: Brian Chong, Keith Newstadt, Sean Doherty

Patent number: 9133473Abstract: The present invention provides cotton plants, cotton tissues, and cotton seeds that include the MON15985 event, which confers resistance to Lepidopteran insect damage. Also provided are assays for detecting the presence of the MON15985 event based on the DNA sequence of the recombinant construct inserted into the cotton genome that resulted in the MON15985 event and/or the genomic sequences flanking the insertion site.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 2010Date of Patent: September 15, 2015Assignee: Monsanto Technology LLCInventors: Scott A Huber, James K Roberts, Zachary W Shappley, Sean Doherty

Publication number: 20150088597Abstract: A method, system, and apparatus for facilitating the process of a corporate risk assessment procedure (which may be identified as an “ESA” or “Enterprise Security Assessment”) are disclosed. A method for data gathering and security assessment may allow security assessors to more readily combine the results of a documentation review process and the results of client interviews, and associate those findings with a broad set of sector-specific and international cyber security standards. This method may include aggregating both sets of data, displaying the aggregated data to the security assessor or another party in a convenient manner, executing functions on the data to transform it into a useful form, and electronically comparing the data to one or more cyber security standards. Data may then be communicated back to a user in the form of an electronic or hard-copy report. A system and apparatus may likewise be configured to perform these steps.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 1, 2014Publication date: March 26, 2015Applicant: Tailored Solutions and Consulting, Inc.Inventors: Sean DOHERTY, Mark LOPES, Natalie LEHR-LOPEZ

Publication number: 20040175027Abstract: A machine vision system has an illumination head (1) with seven rings of LEDs 2-8, each having a different elevational angle. Each ring is configured with a particular current level, thereby setting its intensity. Rings 3 and 4 are green and blue, the other rings being red. A controller controls illumination by varying one or a combination of elevation, azimuth quadrant (or 45° octant), intensity, and colour. For example an image may be captured with fully surrounding, North quadrant, South quadrant, East quadrant, and West quadrant illuminations. Alternatively, there may be both North-South illumination for one image and East-West for another.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 5, 2004Publication date: September 9, 2004Inventors: James Mahon, John Wall, James Tracey, Mark Dullaghan, Sean Doherty

Publication number: 20030009365Abstract: A method and a client/server system for managing content for distribution comprising is disclosed. The invention has particular (but not exclusive) application to managing content in the form of web pages for distribution by a web server. A delegator identifies content to be worked upon and delegates the work to a delegatee. A server sends to the delegates a manifest describing the delegated work, the manifest defining the extent of work to be done. The server receives content from the client together with the returned manifest, each manifest and the associated content being digitally identified by the delegatee. The returned content is accepted by the server only upon verification of the digital identification.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 11, 2001Publication date: January 9, 2003Inventors: Dermot Tynan, Oliver Leahy, Sean Doherty, Morgan Doyle

Publication number: 20020032489Abstract: A method for transferring one or more files is disclosed. The files are transferred from a host peer to a target peer in which respective message digests are calculated for a file on a host peer and a target peer. A comparison between the calculated digests is made prior to transmission of a file in order to establish whether the target peer possesses the file in question. Where it is found that the message digests are identical, it is assumed that the file is present on the target peer. This can be done in the event that it is suspected that a file to be transferred may already exist on the target peer, for example if the target peer already possesses a file of the same name as that to be transferred. If it is discovered that message digests calculated by the host peer and the target peer are identical, the file is not transmitted by the host peer, thereby preventing an unnecessary use of available bandwidth.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 11, 2001Publication date: March 14, 2002Inventors: Dermot Tynan, Oliver Leahy, Sean Doherty, Morgan Doyle
