  • Publication number: 20240315750
Abstract: A combination ablation probe includes a shell configured to be positioned at a target tissue in a patient and a conduit positioned inside the shell. The conduit is configured to supply a cryo-fluid toward a tip of the probe. The probe also includes a heater positioned radially outward of the conduit in the shell and at least one heat transfer element in thermal communication with the heater and the shell.

  • Publication number: 20230045026
Abstract: An electrosurgical wand for reducing tissue is disclosed. The wand includes a handle and an elongate shaft, the shaft having a major longitudinal axis, a conduit extending therethrough and a non-insulated distal end portion defining a first electrode. The first electrode has a distal most edge configured to mechanically pierce tissue, and an arcuate surface extending proximally from the distal most edge along the major longitudinal axis, the arcuate surface having a convex surface that faces in a distal direction. First and second arcuate edges define lateral edges of the arcuate surface. A second electrode is disposed at an opening of the conduit and electrically isolated from the first electrode. The second electrode comprises an aperture, configured to aspirate fluid and tissue debris therethrough.

  • Publication number: 20220160425
Abstract: A combination medical device for removing and treating tissue in a patient is disclosed. The device includes a reusable handle and a blade selectively connectable to the handle. The blade includes an outer sleeve having a lumen with an inner shaft disposed therein. The inner shaft may be coupled to a motor drive unit disposed within the handle and may rotate so as to mechanically cut tissue as the inner shaft rotates. The outer sleeve includes at least one electrode for electrosurgically treating tissue. The reusable handle includes at least one control switch for controlling a parameter associated with the rotation of the inner shaft. The blade also may include a switch assembly in electrical communication with the at least one electrode, the switch assembly including attachment means for selective attachment of the switch assembly to the reusable handle.
