  • Patent number: 11805801
Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods for real-time peeling are disclosed. Peeling can include including evaluating and controlling one or more peelers to remove peel from organic materials. Evaluation can be performed by an evaluation system including a convolutional neural network to determine a peel value. Control can be performed by a machine learning model on the basis of the peel value. Control can include determination of real-time settings for peeler tool speed and/or gate position.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 19, 2021
Date of Patent: November 7, 2023
    Assignee: Frito-Lay North America, Inc.
Inventors: Sean Eichenlaub, Christopher Koci, Keith Chan
  • Publication number: 20220414864
Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods for real-time food production are disclosed. Extrusion can include including evaluating and controlling one or more production devices to produce desirable food products. Evaluation can be performed by an evaluation system including a convolutional neural network to determine a bulk density value. Control can be performed by a machine learning model on the basis of the bulk density value. Control can include determination of real-time settings for production device parameters.

  • Patent number: 10123555
Abstract: A method and system for producing fried food pieces is disclosed. The food pieces are immersed in a first edible fluid as a product bed, monolayered, and immersed in a second edible fluid. The food pieces may also be drained in vertical orientation on a draining belt having at least one vertical orientation member.

  • Publication number: 20180185796
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure describe a mixing nozzle, system implementing the mixing nozzle, and corresponding method of use. The mixing nozzle includes a housing defining a mixing chamber that has a sidewall separating a first end from a second end. A set of tangential feed conduits, which are oriented tangentially to the mixing chamber, extend outwardly from the mixing chamber, through the housing. An outlet orifice is located in the second end, which is one end of an exit channel extending through the housing.

  • Patent number: 7497913
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for cleaning a surface is provided. In one embodiment, a method includes the step of determining the type and size of the contaminant particles. A solution, which may include a plurality of variable size particles, may be selected such that an appropriate size cleaning particle is used during the cleaning process. The solution may include polystyrene latex particles or other cleaning particles. Alternatively, the solution may be a slurry. The solution and particles are delivered to the surface via a nozzle at a velocity that does not damage the surface and that clears the contaminants from the surface.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: March 3, 2009
    Assignee: Sematech Inc.
