  • Publication number: 20250134641
Abstract: A reusable rehabilitation support is for treatment of equine flexor tendon and suspensory ligament injury. A first cannon collar is for embracing the limb above the joint, a second pastern collar is for embracing the limb below the joint. A connecting hinge provides articulation and separation between the first and second collars and a connecting vertical tensile member adjacent the palmar or plantar aspect of the equine limb. The support improves positioning on the limb with a horizontal stabilizing member to prevent both lateral and vertical dislocation of the support during rehabilitation exercise. The support also provides improved pressure redistribution methods to increase safety for the horse during rehabilitation including an internally anchored tensile member and an improved construction method for increased strength and durability. A multiuse, reusable injury treatment device significantly reduces disposable bandaging material wastage.

  • Patent number: 10408171
Abstract: A method of cleaning an EGR valve operatively connected to an exhaust flow from an engine includes determining when cleaning is required, and when cleaning is required, operating the engine in a high temperature mode in which the temperature of exhaust gas exiting the engine is increased while producing a flow of exhaust gas having a low unburnt hydrocarbon content. The method further includes opening the EGR valve to allow hot exhaust gas to flow therethrough so as to remove combustion by-products that are fouling the EGR valve. Furthermore, the method includes producing an estimate of accumulated combustion by-product fouling of the EGR valve. The estimate is then used to determine whether and when to clean the EGR valve.

  • Patent number: 8839313
Abstract: A system that delivers live broadcast media to consumer devices, including a system for enabling devices without native capabilities such as internal bulk storage and stream processing, to have command and control of live broadcast streams, has been provided. This is achieved through intercepting and converting the normal service provider channel mapping data to a new channel map which points to a software system that delivers command and control of live broadcast media, and implementation of a software system which can receive a channel change protocol, establish a command and control session with the device, convert the channel map protocol to the original format, tune in, receive, convert and process the live stream so that it can be delivered to the requesting device and in turn be controlled by user interaction with that device or the software system. A corresponding method is also provided.

  • Patent number: 8453636
Abstract: An archery bow comprises an archery bow body defining opposing limb tips, a bowstring extending between the limb tips along a bowstring axis, and an elongate member extending from the bow body, the elongate member having a length and a proximal end arranged adjacent the bowstring. The archery bow further comprises a dampening element made of a vibration dampening material mounted to the proximal end of the elongate member between the proximal end and the bowstring. The elongate member extends from the bow body along a first axis non-perpendicular to the bowstring axis. Additionally, the elongate member may be curved along at least a portion of its length. In certain embodiments, the archery bow body defines a nested mounting area configured as an open channel to receive a distal end of the elongate member.
