Patent number: 11617568Abstract: An apparatus includes a disposable assembly and a reusable assembly. The disposable assembly includes a fluid input port, a fluid output port, and a tube configured to provide fluid communication between the fluid input port and the fluid output port. The reusable assembly includes a housing, a fluid management assembly that is configured to transition between an open position and a closed position, and a sensing assembly. The fluid management assembly is configured to prevent fluid from traveling past the tube to the fluid output port in the closed position. The sensing assembly is configured to sense fluid accumulating within the tube while the fluid management assembly is in the closed position. The sensing assembly is also configured to drive the fluid management assembly from the closed position to the open position when the sensing assembly detects fluid within the tube at a predetermined range.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2017Date of Patent: April 4, 2023Inventors: Jay K. Joshi, Alex S. Holterman, Jordan D. Altman, Antonio J. Belton, Sean J. Corrigan, Keith A. Grider, Daniel J. Greene, Stephen J. McPhilliamy, Marcus S. Papadopoulos, Michael C. Garrett, Frank E. Patent number: 10279968Abstract: A tamper-evident closure for containers includes a closure shell having a top surface and a depending skirt. The top surface defines a first aperture therethrough and a frangible portion. The skirt defines an open lower end for engaging a container. A tamper-evident tearable member overlies the top surface of the closure shell and defines a second aperture overlying the first aperture. A removable closure cap overlies the top surface of the closure shell and the tearable member. The closure cap has an annular ring projecting downwardly from an underside of the closure cap and extending through the first and second apertures. The annular ring attaches to an underside of the frangible portion. At least partial removal of the closure cap from the top surface of the closure shell peels the frangible portion away from the top surface of the closure shell along the scoring, and tears the tamper-evident member.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 2017Date of Patent: May 7, 2019Assignee: West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc.Inventors: Michael A. Carvajal, Sean J. Corrigan, Keith Grider, Phil Humphrey, Markus Vor Dem Esche, John R. Wolfe, Xia Zhao

Patent number: 9776117Abstract: Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide a portable industrial air filtration device employing an annular dual filter assembly to capture and remove impurities from the air surrounding the air filtration device, enabling the air filtration device to quickly and efficiently improve the quality and safety of the air. The air filtration device includes a two-piece housing including a lower housing component and a locking cover removably attachable to the lower housing component. The dual filter assembly is mounted within the housing between the locking cover and the lower housing component, and includes a removable self-supporting outer pre-filter surrounding a separately removable inner HEPA filter. The pre-filter initially filters the surrounding air by capturing relatively large or coarse impurities, and the HEPA filter further filters the air pulled through the pre-filter by capturing relatively small or fine impurities.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 2014Date of Patent: October 3, 2017Assignee: Illinois Tool Works Inc.Inventors: Keith A. Grider, Derek J. Leatzow, Stephen J. McPhilliamy, Antonio J. Belton, John S. White, Jr., Daniel J. Greene, Ryan L. Francis, Sean J. Corrigan, Charles Steven Pint, Frank E. Garrett, Jr.

Patent number: 9567143Abstract: A tamper-evident closure (110) for containers includes a closure shell (112) having a top surface (118) and a depending skirt (120). The top surface defines a first aperture (124) therethrough and a frangible portion (122). The skirt defines an open lower end (20a) for engaging a container. A tamper-evident tearable member (114) overlies the top surface of the closure shell and defines a second aperture (126) overlying the first aperture. A removable closure cap (116) overlies the top surface of the closure shell and the tearable member. The closure cap has an annular ring (132) projecting downwardly from an under-side of the closure cap and extending through the first and second apertures. The annular ring attaches to an underside of the frangible portion. At least partial removal of the closure cap from the top surface of the closure shell peels the frangible portion away from the top surface of the closure shell along the scoring, and tears the tamper-evident member.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2013Date of Patent: February 14, 2017Assignee: West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc.Inventors: Michael A. Publication number: 20030066192Abstract: A method of repairing a gas turbine engine compressor blade airfoils includes machining away airfoil material along leading and trailing edges and a radially outer tip of the airfoil to form leading edge, trailing edge, and tip cut-backs. Then beads of welding material are welded onto the leading edge, trailing edge, and tip cut-backs. Then some of the weld material is machined away from the weld bead to obtain desired finished dimensions of the leading and trailing edges and radially outer tip. Blade material along only radially outermost portions of the leading and trailing edges extending from the tip towards a base of the airfoil is machined away. A rounded corner is formed between the leading edge and trailing edge cut-backs and unmachined portions of the airfoil between the outermost portions of the leading and trailing edges and the base of the airfoil.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 10, 2001Publication date: April 10, 2003Inventors: Melvin H. Wilkins, Sean J. Corrigan, William T. Dingwell
