The surgical simulation scope comprises an optics housing, a lens and an image sensor placed in such a way to ensure the location of the sensor is within the depth of focus of the lens is maintained while not damaging the sensor and, in some cases, to provide angled and/or rotational viewing.

The device may authenticate the user based on the comparison.

Abstract: Various aspects of a system and method for user authentication are disclosed herein. An audio input is received from one of a plurality of computing devices associated with a user. The user identification data associated with the user based on said received audio input is determined. An association of the user with one or more other users in a social network is determined based on comparison of the determined user identification data with pre-stored user identification data. The user is authenticated to participate in an event in association with the one or more other users based on the comparison.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for temporal tagging of videos in response to identification of locations on the video where persons in a contact list of a user are identified in response to facial recognition. The temporal tags can be retained within the video, or contained separately in a metadata file having fields to indicate time locations in the video and identified persons seen at those locations. Use of the temporal tags allows for automatic distribution of content relevant to the recipient, based on their presence in the video, or of persons in the video of which they are interested.

The metadata manager then compiles the metadata into a metadata database. A recommendation manager may then analyze the various metadata in the metadata database to automatically provide targeted entertainment recommendations to the device user through the electronic device.
