  • Publication number: 20110056948
Abstract: A non-child-resistant closure and container system for a pharmaceuticals comprises a cap configured to cooperate with a2 container. The container has at least one bayonet structure that includes a leading taper, a recess, and a backstop. The cap has an outer shell that includes a skirt and at least one lug formed thereon. The lug is configured to cooperate with the bayonet structure such that one of an audible signal and a tactile sensation is produced upon closing the cap onto the container. The cap is closed onto the container by rotating the cap until a portion of the lug enters the recess. The lug is further configured to be released from the recess by reverse rotation of the cap causing the lug to move axially relative to the recess.

  • Publication number: 20090101616
Abstract: A method for forming a closure device for a container is disclosed including providing a first mold component having a first annular groove. The first annular groove is configured to form a skirt of the closure device. A plurality of ejector blades are provided and are positioned within the mold component. The blades include a notch for forming a lug on an inner surface of the skirt. The lug is back-locked relative to the mold component. A moldable material is introduced into a mold cavity to form the closure device. The device is removed from the mold component by moving the blades along a path defined by tracks formed in the mold component that is generally along a vertical axis of the mold component, wherein the path includes a radially outward component, and the moving of the blades relieves the back-lock of the lug formed on the closure device.

  • Patent number: 5189750
Abstract: A combination bottle opener and can opener is disclosed. A bottle opening element may be movably connected to a can opening element. The bottle opening element may include a first end having an angled portion and a protrusion that cooperate to define a bottle cap receiving area. The bottle opening element may also include an angled body section. The can opening element may include a cutting blade pivotally connected to a body part. The cutting blade may include a cutting edge, a cut-out portion and a plurality of projections. The body part may include a strengthening rib, a tapered edge and a can rim receiving notch. In an open, extended position the combination opener has length greater than the bottle opening element or can opening element alone. This greater length increases the leverage and decreases the amount of force necessary to open a bottle or can, respectively.
