  • Patent number: 8433041
Abstract: A system for enabling a user of a communication device to both handle an incoming call and originate an outgoing call without having to touch the communication device, by way of exchange of voice messages with the communication device. The system is operative for receiving a signal produced by a microphone associated with the communication device and for processing this signal in an attempt to detect at least one of a plurality of spoken commands potentially contained therein. The plurality of spoken commands comprises at least one spoken call handling command and at least one spoken call origination command. In response to detecting a spoken call handling command, the system causes handling of an incoming call destined for the communication device in accordance with the detected spoken call handling command.

  • Patent number: 7864930
Abstract: Methods, apparatus and computer-readable media for registering and retrieving contact information associated with a potential calling party. The registration method comprises receiving an originating address associated with the potential calling party, receiving contact information associated with the potential calling party and storing the originating address associated with the potential calling party in an originating address field of a record associated with the potential calling party and storing the contact information associated with the potential calling party in a contact information field of the record associated with the potential calling party. This increases the variety of contact information that can be left by the potential calling party, contributes to a greater efficiency with which the eventual called party may retrieve contact information associated with a voice mail message and also accelerates the process by which an actual calling party can leave contact information for the called party.

  • Patent number: 6056132
Abstract: A device for holding magnetizable articles includes a revolving drum having externally-mounted magnets. Part-identification labeling surfaces are also included on the drum exterior. In a preferred embodiment, the drum is oriented horizontally and is supported by a contoured base. The drum is seated within side supports of the base, and adjustable knobs provide varied amounts of relative friction between the drum and the base. The drum is removable even if fully-loaded and may be replaced with a secondary drum. In another embodiment, the revolving apparatus is mounted vertically, allowing several drums to be used simultaneously.
