  • Publication number: 20060280141
Abstract: A method and apparatus for sharing a unique identifier among a plurality of receivers. A network controller (140) can establish at least one unique identifier and at least one corresponding time slot for which the unique identifier is valid for each assigned carrier of a wireless receiver (120). The network controller does this by determining at least one unique identifier and at least one corresponding time slot for which the unique identifier is valid for each assigned carrier of the wireless receiver and then sending an indication of the unique identifier(s), time slot(s), and carrier(s) to the wireless receiver. The wireless receiver receives the indication and then monitors at least one channel using the at least one unique identifier during the at least one corresponding time slot indicated.

  • Publication number: 20060281465
Abstract: A method and apparatus for establishing an active set of carriers from a plurality of available carriers for a wireless receiver. The active set of carriers can be determined from the plurality of available carriers for the wireless receiver. An indication of which carriers are in the active set can be sent to the wireless receiver, such as a receiver in a mobile communication device. The receiver or mobile communication device can monitor only those carriers that are listed in the active set of carriers.

  • Publication number: 20060039315
Abstract: A method in a wireless communication station including receiving frames (310), determining the intended recipient of the frames received (312), buffering frames (314) if required, obtaining information specifying how to decode signals received by the wireless communication station (316), combining frames (318), and decoding the combined frames as specified (320).

  • Publication number: 20050116775
Abstract: The present invention discloses a system and a method for memory-based predistortion to reduce the distortion effects introduced by a power amplifier. The distortion effects include both memoryless and memory effects. The input and the corresponding output values of the power amplifier are measured to determine models used for predistortion. Using these models, first, an amplitude memory signal representing the amplitude memory effects of the power amplifier is obtained. Then, the amplitude memory signal is subtracted from the input signal. On the resulting signal, memoryless amplitude predistortion and memory-based phase predistortion are performed to get a predistorted signal. Further, an inverse model of the linear response of the power amplifier is implemented on the predistorted signal. Finally, the output of the inverse model is amplified by the power amplifier to obtain an output signal having reduced memoryless and memory-based effects.
