  • Publication number: 20190261956
Abstract: A computing system includes a memory configured to store instructions, and one or more processors configured to execute the instructions to receive data relating to an image or a user, determine a feature from the data, identify a user preference from a user profile, obtain a model, and segment the image based on the feature, the user preference, and the model. The model is generated by determining a historical feature from historical data as an input, determining a desired output, obtaining a preliminary model based on the input and the desired output, determining an actual output of the preliminary model, determining error criteria between the actual output and the desired output, and generating the model by updating the preliminary model based on the error criteria.

  • Publication number: 20190228371
Abstract: A manipulator can includes a frame, a first deployable support element configured to extend or retract with respect to the frame when acted on by an actuator, a static support element fixedly connected with the frame and comprising a second set of retention elements, and any suitable number of additional deployable support elements. Each support element can further include a respective set of retention elements configured to retain an item. In use, a manipulator can be used to move items by identifying an item contact area of an item to be moved, selectively deploying or retracting the deployable support elements based on the item contact area, and then contacting and retaining the item with the retention elements of the selected support elements.

  • Publication number: 20190171466
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a novel solution to generate multiple linked device code portions within a final executable file. Embodiments of the present invention are operable to extract device code from their respective host object filesets and then link them together to form multiple linked device code portions. Also, using the identification process described by embodiments of the present invention, device code embedded within host objects may also be uniquely identified and linked in accordance with the protocols of conventional programming languages. Furthermore, these multiple linked device code portions may be then converted into distinct executable forms of code that may be encapsulated within a single executable file.

  • Patent number: 10311096
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for analyzing image search result relevance. In one aspect, a method includes receiving result data specifying a search query and responsive image search results that reference images that are responsive to the search query. A determination is made that the search query matches an indexed query. An image relevance model is identified for the indexed query. The image relevance model can output a relevance score adjustment factor for an image search result based on image feature values of the image that is referenced by the search result. A relevance score adjustment factor is determined for each image search result using the identified image relevance model. A relevance score for each image search result is adjusted using the image's image relevance score adjustment factor. The images are ranked based on the adjusted relevance scores.

  • Publication number: 20190079365
Abstract: A non-light-emitting variable transmission device can include an active stack; a transparent conductive layer overlying the active stack; an antireflective layer overlying the transparent conductive layer and defining a hole; and a bus bar comprising a conductive tape that extends into the hole and contacts the transparent conductive layer. Proper selection of materials and design of a bus bar can allow an electrical connection to be made to the transparent conductive layer without the need to cut an underlying transparent conductive layer. A method of forming the non-light-emitting variable transmission device can include patterning the antireflective layer to define the hole that extends to the transparent conductive layer. Improved control in patterning allows the antireflective layer to be relatively thin and not remove too much of the underlying transparent conductive layer.

  • Publication number: 20180362179
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for cooling an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). In some examples, a heat sink is coupled to a portion of the UAV that is to be cooled. One or more heat pipes are coupled to the shim, and extend to one or more propulsion engines of the UAV. Liquid in a heat pipe is heated to gaseous form at the heat sink, and the vapor travels to a portion of the heat pipe near the propulsion engine, where the vapor is cooled by air moved by the propulsion engine, upon which the vapor returns to liquid form and travels back to the heat sink.

  • Publication number: 20180337010
Abstract: An electronic device such as a cover for a portable device or other electronic equipment may have circuitry mounted in a housing. The housing may be formed from layers of material such as fabric and polymer layers. The circuitry of the electronic device may include components mounted on a printed circuit. The components may include movable components such as keys in a keyboard. A fabric layer may overlap the keys. Border regions of the fabric layer that surround each key may be characterized by a stiffness. To ensure that the keys or other movable components in the device exhibit satisfactory stiffness levels, the keys can be tested and selected border regions or other fabric layer portions may be laser ablated or otherwise processed to locally reduce fabric layer stiffness.
