  • Publication number: 20140146637
Abstract: Ultrasound data is acquired by a synthetic aperture technique which uses multiple ultrasound transmissions from point sources. RF data is stored and processed. Doppler velocities for pixels in an insonified region are obtained by processing the stored data. One or more pan boxes may be provided. Doppler velocities may be determined by obtaining I and Q images for a plurality of frames and performing autocorrelation across the frames for some or all pixels in the frames.

  • Patent number: 8725198
Abstract: Electronic devices are provided with ejectable component assemblies that can be substantially flush with the external surfaces of the housings of the devices, despite variations in their manufacture. The ejectable component assemblies may include connectors coupled to circuit boards of the devices, and trays that can be loaded with removable modules, inserted through openings in the housings of the devices, and into the connectors for functionally aligning the removable modules with the circuit boards. The ejectable component assemblies may also include ejectors coupled to the housings of the devices for ejecting the trays from the connectors and, thus, from the devices themselves.

  • Publication number: 20140070492
Abstract: A projectile collection system that includes slanted and vertical surfaces made of coated mesh fiberglass materials to decelerate projectiles in a manner where the projectile material suffers no deformation, allowing for reuse or recycling of the projectile material. Six impact deflection element panels are situated to deflect, decelerate, reflect, suppress and collect the projectile material as it travels into the opening of the system and finally rests at the bottom using only gravity. A continuous scrolling paper target system with each successive target face being scrolled remotely by the shooter may be attached to the top entry area of the system for use. The target faces may be printed on rolls of paper that scroll to the next target image on the paper roll to allow the shooter to shoot continuously without having to return to the target area to manually replace flesh individual targets.

  • Publication number: 20140072794
Abstract: Examples of computing devices including a processor, memory, and a display device housed within the same enclosure are described. In examples, the display device, which may include a cover glass, may be attached to the enclosure using a multilayer adhesive member, the multilayer adhesive including a first adhesive layer and a second adhesive layer disposed on opposite sides of a foam layer. The first and/or second adhesive layers may include two or more layers of a pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA), which may be separated using one or more adhesive carrier films. In examples, the first and/or second adhesive layers may include a low tack (e.g. removable) PSA for adhering to surfaces of the display and enclosure and for facilitation removal and re-workability of the adhesive joint.

  • Publication number: 20140035916
Abstract: Certain embodiments of the invention provide a computer apparatus and corresponding computer implement method for slab rendering from a three dimensional (3D) image data set of voxel data. Slab rendering is carried out on a stack of slabs of the same thicknesses in the 3D image data set. The whole stack of slabs is rendered together according to a desired filtering operation by applying a one dimensional van-Herk-Gil-Werman (vHGW) algorithm having a segment size one less than the slab thickness to strings of data that run through the whole stack.

  • Publication number: 20140010422
Abstract: Certain embodiments provide a computer system operable to determine a registration mapping between a first medical image and a second medical image, the computer system comprising: a storage device for storing data representing the first medical image and the second medical image; and a processor unit operable to execute machine readable instructions to: (a) identify a plurality of elements in the first medical image; (b) determine a spatial mapping from each element in the first medical image to a corresponding element in the second medical image to provide a plurality of spatial mappings subject to a consistency constraint; and (c) determine a registration mapping between the first medical image and the second medical image based on the plurality of spatial mappings from the respective elements of the first medical image to the corresponding elements of the second medical image.

  • Patent number: 8518569
Abstract: An electrolyte containment structure for an electrode jelly roll and electrolyte in a portable power source is described. The electrolyte containment structure comprises metal foil, such as metal foil sleeve, coupled to and partially surrounding a rigid frame. The rigid frame can protect the electrode jelly roll edges from crush events. To prevent shorts, the metal foil can be coated in plastic, which can insulate the metal foil from the electrode jelly roll. Further, the plastic can serve as a bonding and sealing agent. For instance, the metal foil can be coupled to the rigid frame using a thermal bonding method involving melting of the plastic. The rigid frame can provide a platform for connector pads and safety circuitry associated with the portable power source.

  • Patent number: 8491851
Abstract: A detection system in a portable assay reader device is enabled or activated after a user applies a manual force to a portion of the reader device, to an object supporting the assay test strip, or to the assay test strip itself. The movement moves a switch from an open state to a closed state. The closed state enables a detection system to monitor one or more test regions in the assay test strip for a reaction. The detection system can include one or more imagers, one or more electrical detectors, one or more magnetic detectors, or one or more optical detectors that monitor the one or more test regions for applicable visible, electrical, magnetic, or optical reactions, respectively. The one or more imagers or detectors transmit data to a processing device to determine the results of a test.

  • Patent number: 8491850
Abstract: A diagnostic test reader includes an assay interface, a locking mechanism, and a test unit. The assay interface is configured to receive a diagnostic assay. The locking mechanism is configured to lock the diagnostic assay within the assay interface in response to one of the diagnostic assay and the diagnostic test reader being given a first push in a first direction toward the other of the diagnostic assay and the diagnostic test reader. The locking mechanism is also configured to unlock the diagnostic assay within the assay interface in response to the one of the diagnostic assay and the diagnostic test reader being given a second push in the first direction. The test unit is configured to analyze the diagnostic assay.

  • Patent number: 8387280
Abstract: A midsole element is adapted for positioning on a medial or lateral side of a shoe. The midsole element, having a longitudinal direction and a transverse direction, includes a top portion, a bottom portion, and a compression element, which has at least two first strut members and at least two second strut members disposed between the top and bottom portions and supporting the top portion a distance away from the bottom portion. The at least two first strut members being separated by a first longitudinal distance in the longitudinal direction. The at least two second strut members being separated by a second longitudinal distance in the longitudinal direction and each of said first and second transversely disposed two strut members are oriented and adapted to preferentially deflect in the same direction in response to a force imparted on the midsole element.
