  • Publication number: 20080073458
Abstract: An aircraft that has a set of wings which spin about respective axes that are laterally spaced apart in a horizontal plane of the aircraft, parallel to each other, and positioned adjacent respective frame portions, each of said frame portions defining a continuous surface, having a semi-circular cross-section means being provided to drive the sets of wings so that, as they spin, each wing of said sets of wings moves sequentially upwards inside its respective frame portion, and downwards outside its respective frame portion so as to provide lift to the aircraft.

  • Publication number: 20050246206
Abstract: A system and method for performing insurance claim reinspections is disclosed. The system includes an insurance company computer in communication with a communications server, at least one remote terminal in communication with the communications server, and an insurance claim workfile having a loss estimate section, an appraisal section and a reinspection section. The method includes the steps of providing an insurance claim profile and exception priority information, comparing an estimate in an insurance workfile to the insurance claim profile, and generating exception indicators based on the comparison.

  • Publication number: 20050177108
Abstract: An external infusion device enclosed in a multiple-housing casing. Enclosed within an outer wall, a first housing encloses a reservoir of liquid and a drive mechanism. A second housing encloses a pump and electronics for controlling the drive mechanism to dispense the liquid from the reservoir according to a selected pattern. A separate third housing encloses a battery or batteries. The first and third housings are vented to atmosphere via primary vents with hydrophobic barriers. The second housing is vented to at least one of the first and third housings via a secondary vent with a hydrophobic barrier. The hydrophobic barriers allow passage of air, and allow pressure equalization, but prevent passage of liquid. Liquid entering one housing is prevented from flowing into the other adjoining housings.

  • Patent number: 5470091
Abstract: A bicycle frame having improved fatigue life of the frame. Cable entry/exit points for internally routed control cables are formed to produce strategically reduced stiffness zones so as to reduce peak stresses in the frame. Preferably, dimples are formed in the bicycle frame tubes with bulkhead walls deformed at an angle between 45 and 90 degrees and transverse to a line through the axial center of the tubes. Cable access holes formed in the bulkhead have a low friction plastic insert cable guide retained in the hole to provide aesthetic enhancement and weather seal for the tubing.

  • Patent number: 5433465
Abstract: Improved cable guide for bicycle frames which has been found useful for improving the fatigue life of light weight bicycle frames and other stressed tubular structures. One or more welding or brazing-free dimple/bulkhead forming deformations produce strategically reduced stiffness zones so as to reduce peak stresses. The cable guide system also offers an improved method for routing control cables through the frame structure. A plastic cable nozzle insert is disclosed along with pyramid-shaped external dimples and contiguous bulkheads.
