Publication number: 20240260222Abstract: A server information handling system is secured by a bezel that couples to an access location, such as an air vent at a front or rear face of a housing. The bezel includes a security structure having a lock and configured to couple directly at the front face or with a bezel extension at the rear face so that the server information handling system can use the same bezel with both a front face or rear face rack mount. The bezel has a lock integrated with the security structure, an air filter that fits over the security structure to filter air flowing into the housing, and a filter brace that captures the air filter by coupling to the security structure over the air filter.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 9, 2024Publication date: August 1, 2024Applicant: Dell Products L.P.Inventors: Peter T. Clark, Amrita Sidhu Maguire, Richard W. Guzman, Sean P. O'Donnell, Matthew B. Gilbert, Georg Todtenbier, Oscar Coutinho, Yung-Chun Chen, Ming-Chiao Lee, Chi-Sung Chang

Patent number: 11997822Abstract: A chassis assembly includes a rack chassis and a block assembly. The rack chassis includes a left side panel and a right side panel that are made from one continuous single material. The left side panel includes a left rail guide, and the right side panel includes a right rail guide. The block assembly is adapted to slide into the rack chassis and includes a top cover, a left sidewall, and a right sidewall that are interconnected. The left sidewall of the block assembly includes a left rail adapted to slide into the left rail guide when the block assembly is located leftmost of the rack chassis. The right sidewall of the block assembly includes a right rail that is adapted to slide into the right rail guide when the block assembly is located rightmost of the rack chassis.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 2021Date of Patent: May 28, 2024Assignee: Dell Products L.P.Inventors: Jean Marie Doglio, Richard W. Patent number: 11812567Abstract: A handle assembly may include a base, a handle rotably coupled to the base via a hinge, the handle comprising a lock integral to the handle and mechanically coupled to a remainder of the handle via a spring having a spring force that biases the lock in a locked position relative to the handle. The base may include a mechanical retention feature for receiving and mechanically retaining an information handling resource. The base may also include one or more features configured to, as the handle is translated into a closed position relative to the base, mechanically engage with the lock to overcome the spring force that biases the lock in a locked position and allows the lock to return to the locked position in order to maintain the handle in the closed position.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 2021Date of Patent: November 7, 2023Assignee: Dell Products L.P.Inventors: Eduardo Escamilla, Sean P. O'Donnell, John Donachy, Juan M. Gonzalez

Patent number: 11682274Abstract: A programmable dynamic information handling system rack lighting system may include an array of a plurality of visual indicators configured to be programmed such that each information handling system of a chassis is associated with a set of one or more of the plurality of visual indicators and a lighting control subsystem configured to control illumination of the plurality of visual indicators based on statuses of information handling systems of the chassis, such that the lighting control subsystem causes each set of the visual indicators to illuminate based on a status of the respective information handling system associated with such set.Type: GrantFiled: July 16, 2020Date of Patent: June 20, 2023Assignee: Dell Products L.P.Inventors: Richard A. Crisp, Matthew B. Gilbert, Sean P. O'Donnell, Robert B. Curtis

Patent number: 11665840Abstract: A server information handling system couples to a rack and is secured with a security device coupled to one side of the information handling system housing clear of the front side of the information handling system so that the entire front side of the housing is available for venting and/or interface devices like a power switch and ports. The security device has a latch that moves vertically in response to an outward and upward pull on a lever engaged with the latch. The latch secures and releases the housing to the server rack, such as at the rail holding the housing in the rack, and releases a pin from a slot of a bezel that covers a front face of the server information handling system. The pin moves vertically in a channel of the latch and is biased to a locked position so that insertion of the server bezel onto the housing will lock the bezel with the pin while the lever remains in a locked position.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 2022Date of Patent: May 30, 2023Assignee: Dell Products L.P.Inventors: Sean P. O'Donnell, Richard W. Guzman, Richard A. Crisp, Jean M. Doglio, Peter Clark, Kevin Keller
