  • Publication number: 20170011406
Abstract: A method for executing a transaction. A first processing device senses a sound, an action, or a behavior from a source and receives identification information from the source, which may be related to or a portion of the sound, action or behavior. The first processing device processes one or more of the sound, the action, and the behavior and the identification information to identify the transaction and to identify the source. Executing the transaction if the source is an authorized source.

  • Publication number: 20170006028
Abstract: A system for authenticating a first entity. The system comprises a storage component for storing a trained electronic-metric factor, a sensor for receiving an electronic-metric input from the first entity, an analysis component associated with a second entity for determining a first relationship between the trained electronic-metric factor and any electronic-metric input, and an authentication component for authenticating the first entity responsive to the first relationship.

  • Publication number: 20160379220
Abstract: A system and method to backup data on an entity such as a smart wallet by storing the data on a separate entity using intelligently connected personalized authentication. A first entity authenticates with two or more entities prior to data transfer, that are intelligently connected, meaning connected only when functioning to authenticate with other entities to perform the functions of data release, transfer, distribution, backup, and restoration. A primary entity holding sensitive private information (such as a smart wallet) authenticating with a second entity (such as a USB memory device on a PC), and a third entity (such as a cloud based server) before data is released or distributed to another entity. The system and method may personalize the data to the data owner by first requiring authentication of the owner.

  • Publication number: 20160234206
Abstract: A distributed system and method to improve collaborative service across multiple sensors on various devices. According to one embodiment, multiple devices may be used to train and then utilize a common algorithm for purposes including but not limited to recognizing a source to perform some action, control, command, calculation, storage, retrieval, encryption, decryption, alerting, alarming, notifying or as in some embodiments, to authenticate. In one embodiment of the invention, devices with one or more sensors such as but not limited to microphones, acoustic arrays or audio sensors may contribute to one or more models by sending samples, features, recognition scores, and/or risk scores to each other to improve collaborative training, signal quality, recognition, synchronization, inter-device proximity location and/or fusion of recognition scores and/or risk scores.

  • Publication number: 20160085954
Abstract: A method and system to verify identity while protecting private data. To locally verify identity without requiring communication with an external database or passing personal/identity information over network connections. To create a database and/or statistical model for later use to verify identify, private information from a first media is input to a device. Private information subsequently presented via a second media is then verified locally by comparing to the private information previously captured from the first media. If the resultant correlation score is sufficiently high the private information from the first media and from the second media are determined to belong to the same individual, and the user is authenticated or a desired action is approved. In case of a low correlation score, a notification may be sent to one or more entities alerting authorities of a security breach or identity theft.

  • Patent number: 9097347
Abstract: A carbon seal assembly comprises an annular seal runner adapted to be sealingly mounted to a shaft to rotate therewith. An annular member is secured to a structure, the annular member having an annular body and a projection extending from the body toward the seal runner in an axial direction relative to an axis of the runner. A axial gap is defined between the member and the seal runner when secured to the shaft and structure respectively, with the projecting extending into only a portion of the gap, such that the gap defines a first width portion and a second width portion, with the member and the seal runner being made of complementary materials for magnetic attraction therebetween. An annular carbon element is mounted to the seal runner to rotate therewith and positioned in the first width portion of the gap, the carbon element having an annular wear surface abutting against the annular member, a plane of the annular wear surface being axially offset from the second width portion of the gap.
