  • Publication number: 20230406061
Abstract: A transparent display system comprises a transparent display, a touch-sensitive layer, and a heater layer. The touch-sensitive layer is connected to the transparent display and is configured to detect a user's touch on the transparent display. The heater layer is connected to the transparent display and comprises a trace array and one or more electrodes. The electrodes are operable to activate the trace array to generate heat in the location of the user's touch to generate thermo-haptic feedback to communicate information to the user.

  • Patent number: 11180052
Abstract: Systems and methods for a reconfigurable soft robotics-based vehicle interior is provided. The soft-robotics based vehicle interior comprises a child seat portion disposed in a vehicle seat, the child seat portion comprising a child seat constructed of highly compliant materials and mechanisms. When required, the highly compliant materials and mechanisms may be manipulated such that the child seat portion is moved from a retracted state to an engaged state. The child seat may also manipulate the highly complaint materials and mechanisms based on an anatomy of a child to provide customizable support for the child.

Assignee: TOYOTA MOTOR ENGINEERING & MANUFACTURING NORTH AMERICA, INC.
Inventors: Frederico Marcolino Quintao Severgnini, Sean Rodrigues, Ercan Mehmet Dede
  • Patent number: 11163178
Abstract: Methods and systems may provide for 3D volumetric displays. Such 3D volumetric displays may include a transparent enclosed volume holding a noble gas as a gain medium. Two electrodes positioned on opposing sides of the transparent enclosed volume, may apply a voltage to excite electrons of the gain medium to an excited state. A pump laser may emit a laser beam into the gain medium at a wavelength that has an energy below an absorption line of the gain medium to allow for photon collision while also allowing the laser beam to enter the gain medium. A lens may focus the laser beam to a focused spot within the transparent enclosed volume and move the focused spot as a three-dimensionally scanned voxel to produce a 3D image.

  • Patent number: 11153556
Abstract: Methods and systems may provide for 3D volumetric displays. Such 3D volumetric displays may include a transparent enclosed volume holding a gas as a stationary gain medium. A scanning mirror may direct a light beam from a light source. A voxel projector may receive the light beam from the scanning mirror and may project an expanded beam into a volume of the stationary gain medium. Changes in the X and Y orientation between the light beam from the scanning mirror and the voxel projector results in relatively larger changes in the X and Y dimension of the expanded beam that is projected into the volume of the stationary gain medium to produce a 3D image.
