Patent number: 10239200Abstract: A roof square for marking rafters comprising a right angle triangular body with a marking blade pivotally mounted adjacent the right angle. Either side of the square adjacent the right angle is held against the stock to be marked, and the blade used to mark either a plumb cut or a foot cut. The blade retracts to allow marks to be made at a measured depth. The tool can also be used as a conventional square to make 90 and 45 degree marks.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 2015Date of Patent: March 26, 2019Inventor: Sean Roger Michael Pepper

Publication number: 20100208070Abstract: A method and apparatus (10) for collecting information relating to a driver of a motor vehicle using portable computing apparatus (12), cameras (13) for capturing an image or images relating to operation of the vehicle by the driver and a location sensor (14) for providing information relating to location of the vehicle. The computing apparatus is capable of recording information from an observer relating to operation of the vehicle by the driver to enable the driver to be assessed. The method and apparatus may be applied to capturing information relating to any observable scene. Information collected as above may be used for a training or an information program for drivers or users of vehicles.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 4, 2008Publication date: August 19, 2010Applicant: VIGIL SYSTEMS PTY LTDInventors: Ian Haynes, Bradley Schultz, Stephen Larkin, Sean Rogers

Publication number: 20070198360Abstract: Community based purchasing methods and apparatus for products/services may include accumulating micro payments from a plurality of mobile buyers equipped with wireless communication devices. A seller, upon notification of accumulation of a predetermined total of micro payments, may then deliver the product/service. Payment by a mobile user may be escrowed upon receipt of the micro payment and be released to the seller upon delivery of the product/service. Product/services purchased using community based purchasing methods and apparatus may include digital content streamed to a buyer's wireless communication device and live performances viewed directly by the buyer.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 23, 2006Publication date: August 23, 2007Inventors: Sean Rogers, Brian Minear, Richard Gardner,, Stephen Sprigg

Publication number: 20070024721Abstract: A method and apparatus compensates for improperly exposed areas in a first digital image taken with a first aperture setting by rapidly and automatically capturing a second digital image of the same scene using a second aperture setting. If a portion of the first image is properly exposed, then image information for the portion is used in a third adjusted image. If the portion is improperly exposed, then image information for the portion is combined with image information for a corresponding portion in the second image, thereby generating a composite portion used in the adjusted image. The manner of combining can be based on the luminance of the portion in the first image. In another example, one image is captured. Improperly exposed portions are adjusted using a screening process. The adjusted image is stored as a file with an indication in the file header that the image has been adjusted.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 29, 2005Publication date: February 1, 2007Inventor: Sean Rogers

Publication number: 20060224319Abstract: A method of processing location data at a portable computing device is provided and includes receiving information associated with a user defined location at the portable computing device. The information includes a central point and an entry indication perimeter. An entry alert associated with the user defined location is received at the portable computing device. The location of the portable computing device is monitored to determine when the portable computing device crosses the entry indication perimeter associated with the central point of the user defined location indicating that the portable computing device is proximate to the user defined location. The method further includes switching the portable computing device from a roaming state to an entry state indicating that the portable computing device is about to enter the user defined location. An indication can be provided to the user that the portable computing device has switched to the entry state.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 31, 2005Publication date: October 5, 2006Inventor: Sean Rogers
