Abstract: Enhanced methods, systems, and techniques for facilitating affiliate-based transactions are provided. Example embodiments provide an Affiliation Facilitator System, which generates and provides reference rewriter code modules based on affiliations between content providers and target sites. In some embodiments, a reference rewriter code may execute on a client computing system to automatically modify content provided by a content provider that is affiliated with one or more target sites. In some cases, the reference rewriter code may modify links that refer to designated target sites to refer instead to designated affiliation facilitators. The designated affiliation facilitators may then track accesses to the target sites and provide compensation to the content provider based on the tracked accesses.
