  • Publication number: 20240152464
Abstract: A computer system includes physical memory devices of different types that store randomly-accessible data in a main memory of the computer system. In one approach, data is stored in memory at one or more logical addresses allocated to an application by an operating system. The data is physically stored in a first memory device of a first memory type (e.g., NVRAM). The operating system determines an access pattern for the stored data. In response to determining the access pattern, the data is moved from the first memory device to a second memory device of a different memory type (e.g., DRAM).

  • Publication number: 20240154626
Abstract: Neural Normalized MinSum (N-NMS) decoding for improving frame error rate (FER) performance on linear block codes over conventional normalized MinSum (NMS). Dynamic multiplicative weights are assigned to each check-to-variable message in each iteration to efficiently provide training parameters of N-NMS that support N-NMS for longer block lengths. Embodiment are described for neural two-dimensional normalized MinSum (N-2D-NMS) decoders requiring fewer training parameters. The N-2D-NMS approaches for example use the same weight for edges with the same check and/or variable node degree. Simulation results indicate that that this LDPC decoding performs similarly to previous techniques while substantially reducing the amount of training necessary.

  • Patent number: 11972338
Abstract: This application describes systems and methods for generating machine learning models (MLMs). An exemplary method includes obtaining a sample and user input data characterizing a product or service. A subset of the data is selected from the sample based on sampling the sample according to the user input data. An MLM is trained by applying the data subset as training input to the MLM, thereby providing a trained MLM to emulate a customer selection process unique to the product or service. A user interface (UI) configured to receive other user input data and cause the trained MLM to execute on the other user input data, thereby testing the trained MLM, is presented. A summary of results from the execution of the trained MLM is generated and presented in the UI. The summary of results indicates a contribution to the trained MLM of each of a plurality of features.

  • Publication number: 20240080564
Abstract: Electronic devices, methods, and program storage devices for achieving smooth zooming operations during video capture are disclosed. In particular, smooth zooming may be desirable during video capture operations that involve a single image capture device and/or transitioning between two or more distinct image capture devices, e.g., having different optical and/or zooming properties, during the video capture. When video zooming is done abruptly, it can lead to an unpleasant user experience. The techniques described herein to improve the smoothness of zooming operations include: the use of longer zoom “ramps” for image capture devices; the “early” transitioning between image capture devices during video capture; and the performance of additional “digital zoom smoothing-aware” video image stabilization operations. The embodiments described herein also provide for a more consistent user experience between video streaming (i.e., “preview”) modes and the recorded (i.e.

  • Patent number: 10963575
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described for enterprise access control governance in a computerized information technology (IT) architecture. A server generates a first vector space, each node in the first space representing a user of resources in the IT architecture and including attributes of the user. The server generates a second vector space, each node in the second space representing an entitlement to access resources in the IT architecture and including attributes of the entitlement. The server creates an entitlement utility matrix by mapping nodes in the first space to nodes in the second space. The server determines a set of recommended entitlements for a plurality of users based upon the utility matrix. The server determines a discrepancy between the set of recommended entitlements for a first user and a set of existing entitlements for the first user and adjusts the set of existing entitlements based upon the discrepancy.

  • Patent number: 9475221
Abstract: The invention features, in general, a method for determining a target cycle time for an injection molded part. The method comprises the steps of ascertaining the solidified volume percentage (Vn) as a function of cooling time (Tn) data for solidification of an injection molded part and calculating a cooling speed indicator (CSIn) for each data point, (Tn,Vn). The solidified volume percentage (Vn) as a function of cooling time (Tn) and solidified volume percentage (Vn) as a function of cooling speed indicator (CSIn) are tabulated and used to determine a target cycle time.

  • Publication number: 20130175711
Abstract: A UV sterilization chamber is provided to a humidifier having a water reservoir, a humidifying element and a pathway for directing water provided by the water reservoir to the humidifying element of the humidifier. The pathway is provided in a humidifier base, over which a humidifier enclosure is removably placed. The UV sterilization chamber includes a serpentine portion of the pathway and a UV radiation source positioned for illuminating the portion of the pathway with UV light. Upwardly-directed projections in the base border a perimeter of the pathway; and a downwardly-directed projection of the UV radiation source extends between the upwardly-directed projections when the enclosure is mated with the base, thereby locating the UV radiation source over the portion of the pathway. A switch disables the UV radiation source when the enclosure is removed from the base.
