Publication number: 20220057979Abstract: An apparatus and methods for a modular entertainment pod are provided for preventing a transfer of airborne droplets and contagious aerosols within a large group of people. Multiple modular entertainment pods may be used to divide the large group of people into smaller groups. The modular entertainment pod provides audio and visual content to a small group of people. Screens supported around a perimeter of a supportive deck portion provide a surrounding display of visual content to the people within the pod. Speakers mounted above the screens provide a surrounding audio experience to the people within the pod. The multiple modular entertainment pods enable the small groups of people to socially distance themselves within the large group of people. The multiple modular entertainment pods may be synchronized to simultaneously present media content to all of the small groups of people.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 19, 2021Publication date: February 24, 2022Applicant: Dune EnterprisesInventors: Andrew Sean Wong, Stephen Joseph Horvath, Maxwell Francis Horvath, Leonardo Pham, Nikolai Neira Garcia

Patent number: 10048425Abstract: The invention described herein is a very thin flat panel LED luminaire, including a flat baseboard, a flat reflection panel, a flat acrylic panel, a flat diffusion panel, LED bar, and aluminum encasement frame which combines with the baseboard to form the chassis for the luminaire. The LED bar is placed along either or both sides of the stack. The acrylic panel is printed with a mesh-like mask pattern of dots in a pattern in which the density of the pattern is decreases the farther away from the LED bar the pattern is, differentially coupling the light from the point source LED bar from the reflection panel into the flat acrylic panel so that illumination across the luminaire is substantially uniform.Type: GrantFiled: July 6, 2017Date of Patent: August 14, 2018Assignee: KUNSHAN CHENGTAI ELECTRIC CO., LTD.Inventors: Yu Lin Sheng, Sean Wong

Patent number: 7938980Abstract: A method of using a chemical compound as an etchant for the removal of unmodified areas of a chalcogenide-based glass, while leaving the imagewise modified areas un-removed, wherein the compound contains a secondary amine, R1 R2 NH, with R1 and/or R2 having a sterically bulky group with more than 5 atoms.Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 2007Date of Patent: May 10, 2011Assignee: Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe GmbHInventors: Sean Wong, Georg von Freymann, Martin Wegener, Geoffrey Alan Ozin

Publication number: 20080032237Abstract: The invention relates to a process for producing photonic crystals by first providing an inorganic photoresist which, on illumination with energy greater than the electronic band gap of the photoresist, exhibits a phase alteration. Illumination of the photoresist with a laser beam whose energy is lower than the electronic band gap of the photoresist but whose intensity at the focal point is so high that nonlinear effects occur there nevertheless results in a phase alteration in the photoresist. Thereafter, the illuminated photoresist is exposed to an etching solution which preferentially dissolves one phase of the photoresist, and the developed photoresist is finally removed therefrom as a photonic crystal. Inorganic photonic crystals produced by the process according to the invention are suitable for completely optical systems, circuits and components for optical telecommunication or computer systems.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 5, 2005Publication date: February 7, 2008Applicants: FORSCHUNGSZENTRUM KARLSRUHE GMBH, UNIVERSITY OF TORONTOInventors: Sean Wong, Georg Ludwig von Freymann, Geoffrey Ozin, Markus Deubel, Martin Wegener

Patent number: 6983144Abstract: A cordless telephone base unit having a dynamically changeable cellular telephone adapter and partially reconfigurable software is provided. The software includes a static portion containing core application software, and a dynamic portion containing reconfigurable driver software for interfacing with an external device such as a cellular telephone. The driver software can be downloaded from a removable cellular telephone adapter. The core software and the driver software each contain interface portions at fixed locations. The interface portions provide for transparent interaction between core application and driver software.Type: GrantFiled: January 8, 2003Date of Patent: January 3, 2006Assignee: VTech Telecommunications LimitedInventors: Holger Janssen, Gary Louie, James Dury, Sean Wong

Patent number: 6950652Abstract: The present invention permits access to information stored on a remote device from a local device without requiring that a complete physical copy of the remote information be made. An enhanced and refined hash table permits access to the remote information in order or according to a search key with significant reduction in the memory requirements on the local device even though the remote information is not sorted. Scrolling through the remote data structure without accessing any unnecessary record on the remote device and hence reducing scroll response time is also achieved.Type: GrantFiled: January 8, 2003Date of Patent: September 27, 2005Assignee: VTech Telecommunications LimitedInventors: Holger Janssen, Gary Louie, James Dury, Sean Wong

Patent number: 6280351Abstract: A practice device comprising a plurality of striking targets arranged about a frame in an overall configuration which approximates the shape of an opponent. The targets are individually articulated to the frame, so that each individual target reacts independently in response to a strike. The targets are each in communication with a common force sensor, through a load transfer shaft movable relative to the frame and bearing on a force sensor such as a load cell, which provides feedback to the athlete regarding the force of each strike.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 2000Date of Patent: August 28, 2001Inventor: Sean Wong
