The portable medical device includes a memory and a processor controlled by commands embedded in and/or executed upon the processor and configured to collect, in the memory, operational history data and/or performance data related to the functioning of the portable medical device during use, and load, from the memory to the archive of the battery pack, the operational history data and/or performance data. The battery pack is configured to enable transfer of the operational history data and/or performance data of the portable medical device to a network or server.
