    Abstract: A continuously variable transmission including at least a primary pulley fixed to a primary shaft, a secondary pulley fixed to a secondary shaft and an endless transmission element located between the primary and secondary pulleys. A slip preventor is included to control and/or prevent slip of the endless transmission element with respect to the pulleys. A clutch and incorporated to the slip preventor in order to allow the amount slip to be adjusted based on factors such as the torque transmitted by the transmission.
