  • Patent number: 11989819
Abstract: A computer-implemented method and a corresponding apparatus are provided for the provision of a two-dimensional visualization image having a plurality of visualization pixels for the visualization of a three-dimensional object represented by volume data for a user. Context information for the visualization is obtained by the evaluation of natural language and is taken into account in the visualization. The natural language can be in the form of electronic documents, which are assigned or can be assigned to the visualization process. In addition, the natural language can be in the form of a speech input of a user, during or after the visualization.

Date of Patent: May 21, 2024
    Assignee: Siemens Healthineers AG
Inventors: Fernando Vega, Stefan Thesen, Sebastian Budz, Robert Schneider, Sebastian Krueger, Alexander Brost, Volker Schaller, Bjoern Nolte

  • Publication number: 20220122717
Abstract: A method for use in generating a computer-based visualization of 3D medical image data is described. The method includes receiving 3D medical image data and performing a selection process to select first image data forming a first portion of the 3D medical image data, the first image data representing a first anatomical object of a given type. An analysis process is performed on the first image data, a parameter of the analysis process being based on the given type of the first anatomical object. Based at least in part on a result of the analysis process, a visual parameter mapping for the first portion is determined, for use in a rendering process for generating a visualization of the 3D medical image data. Also described is a method of generating a computer-based visualization of 3D medical image data and an apparatus for performing the methods.

  • Patent number: 7889894
Abstract: A method of navigation in three-dimensional, electronic image data sets is disclosed, whereby the image data sets contain three-dimensional image data subsets. The method includes optically representing at least one two-dimensional projection of an image data set that includes a two-dimensional subprojection of at least one image data subset, optically highlighting the at least one two-dimensional subprojection, receiving a user input directed to the selection of a certain subprojection, and optically representing, in accordance with said user input, at least one additional two-dimensional projection of the image data set that includes a two-dimensional projection of the selected image data subset. The method can be used for an image data set that is formed by fusion of at least two source image data sets. The source image data sets can especially comprise computer tomography and a positron-emission tomography image data set.

  • Patent number: 6603868
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for presentation of images reproducible at a display monitor, digital image data of an examination volume of a subject are registered with an image pickup system, such as a medical examination installation, and at least two images of the examination volume with arbitrary orientation of the image planes relative to one another are simultaneously displayed at the display monitor. At least one marker is contained in each image that indicates information about the position of the image plane of the other image with reference to the image wherein the marking is displayed.

  • Patent number: 6429884
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for presenting and processing an image reproducible at a display monitor, wherein digital image data of an examination volume of a subject are registered with an image pickup system, such as a medical examination installation, the examination volume or a part thereof is played back at the display monitor as a three-dimensional image, and a volume region of the image is defined with a marker, this volume region or the image environment thereof being removed from the image and no longer displayed in a subsequent image presentation.
