  • Patent number: 10954319
Abstract: The present invention relates to novel types of PMMA foams and also to the production thereof. The recipes used in the production process include particularly crosslinkers and chain transfer agents as recipe constituents, mostly in low concentrations, in addition to suitable blowing agents. It was found that, surprisingly, the invention provides a simple-to-produce stable PMMA foam having very good properties.

  • Patent number: 10596772
Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel process for the production of novel fibre-reinforced profile materials filled with a rigid foam core, especially a PMI foam core. In particular, the present invention relates to a novel process which, in various versions, provides a particularly high throughput and allows a very wide range of shaping options. One step here continuously produces a complex fibre-reinforced profile material and simultaneously inserts the rigid foam core into same. In addition, in the same process step, very good binding of the rigid foam core to the fibre-reinforced profile material is assured. Shaping further takes place in two or more moulds simultaneously to achieve a particularly high throughput and simultaneously produce profile materials differing in shape.

  • Patent number: 10584225
Abstract: Fine-cell PMMA foams are produced using a production process including nucleators in addition to suitable blowing agents. It was found that, surprisingly, a simple-to-produce stable PMMA foam having very fine cells and very good properties can be produced.

  • Patent number: 10131097
Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel process for the production of novel fiber-reinforced profile materials comprising a rigid foam core, in particular a PMI foam core. In particular, the present invention relates to a novel process which can be carried out in two variants, a short Pul-press process and a Pul-shape process. One step here produces a fiber-reinforced profile material and simultaneously inserts the rigid foam core into same. The same step moreover ensures very good binding of the rigid foam core to the fiber-reinforced profile material.

  • Publication number: 20170087750
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the production of mould-foamed poly(meth)acrylimide (P(M)I) cores, in particular of polymethacrylimide (PMI) cores, which can be used by way of example in automobile construction or aircraft construction. A feature of this process is that polymer granules or polymer powder are charged to a compression mould where they are foamed. A particular feature of the process is that said two-shell compression mould has, respectively on both sides, a cavity that conforms to the shape and which serves for both the heating and the cooling of the granules and, respectively, of the rigid foam core produced therefrom.

  • Patent number: 9260599
Abstract: The invention describes a method for producing a foam molding from poly(meth)acrylimide, an adhesion promoter or an adhesion promoter mixture and optional auxiliaries, comprising the following steps: grinding a polymeric molding made of poly(meth)acrylamide, coating the grindings obtained in the preceding step with an adhesion promoter, introducing the coated grindings into a mold, optionally adding the auxiliaries, heating the mold, cooling the mold below the foaming temperature, and demolding the foam molding. The resulting foam molding has outstanding mechanical properties and is suitable for applications including as a component in the production of space, air, water and land vehicles.
