Patent number: 11552731Abstract: An apparatus, method and computer program is described comprising receiving data at a receiver of a transmission system; using a receiver algorithm to convert data received at the receiver into an estimate of the first coded data, the receiver algorithm having one or more trainable parameters; generating an estimate of first data bits by decoding the estimate of the first coded data, said decoding making use of an error correction code of said encoding of the first data bits; generating a refined estimate of the first coded data by encoding the estimate of the first data bits; generating a loss function based on a function of the refined estimate of the first coded data and the estimate of the first coded data; updating the trainable parameters of the receiver algorithm in order to minimise the loss function; and controlling a repetition of updating the trainable parameters by generating, for each repetition, for the same received data, a further refined estimate of the first coded data, a further loss functiType: GrantFiled: July 20, 2018Date of Patent: January 10, 2023Assignee: Nokia Technologies OyInventors: Sebastian Cammerer, Sebastian Dörner, Stefan Schibisch, Jakob Hoydis

Publication number: 20220335206Abstract: A method for editing and updating content of a collaborative document within a preview user interface is provided. The method includes receiving, by a content management platform, a request for a document stored within the content management platform in a format of a first application, wherein the request is received from a client device of a first user of the content management platform via a second application that is different from the first application, and wherein the document includes a first comment provided by a second user of the content management platform at a first point in time with respect to a first portion of the collaborative document.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 4, 2022Publication date: October 20, 2022Inventors: Eric Zhang, Birkan Icacan, Harold Kim, Jameslevi Schmidt, James Watts, Joshua Bergstrand, Xiaojie Jiang, Lai Kwan Wong, Cayden Meyer, Sebastian Doerner, Yifan Cao, Ryan Weber

Patent number: 11295060Abstract: A method for editing and updating content of a collaborative document within a preview user interface is provided. The method includes a content management platform receives a request for a file stored which is stored in a third-party application format. The system causes a rendered graphical image of the file to be presented within a preview user interface. The rendered graphical image of the file represents a view of the file as if opened within a third-party application. The system receives from the preview user interface, content associated with a portion of the file. The system generates a new version of the file that includes the content associated with the portion of the file.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 2017Date of Patent: April 5, 2022Assignee: Google LLCInventors: Eric Zhang, Ryan Weber, Birkan Icacan, Harold Kim, Jameslevi Schmidt, James Watts, Joshua Bergstrand, Xiaojie Jiang, Lai Kwan Wong, Cayden Meyer, Sebastian Doerner, Yifan Cao

Patent number: 10445373Abstract: A group recommendation provides end users in a social group a set of recommended destinations based on the combined personal preferences of the members of the social group. Members of a social group are identified using a combination of location based signals and social graph information in response to receiving a recommendation request. The group recommendation may be determined by combining the personal preferences associated with each member of the group into a master preference profile. Alternatively, the group recommendation may be determined by first calculating an individual recommendation list for each member of the social group and then calculating a composite score for each recommendation on the individual recommendation lists.Type: GrantFiled: January 9, 2017Date of Patent: October 15, 2019Assignee: GOOGLE LLCInventors: Matthew Nicholas Stuttle, Sebastian Dörner, Alexandra Gherghina

Patent number: 9367589Abstract: A system and method for providing destination recommendations to a user based on mining of a location history. The location history provides information on locations visited by users of the system over time. The system mines the location history to identify location pairs. Each location pair comprises an originating location visited by a user and a next location that was visited by the user within a defined time threshold of visiting the originating location. The system aggregates location pairs by common originating location. The system then takes into account the current location of a requesting user. The system uses the current location information to identify a corresponding originating location in a location history index. The system provides recommendations based at least in part on how frequently certain next locations were visited after visiting the originating location.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2013Date of Patent: June 14, 2016Assignee: Google Inc.Inventors: Joanna Franciszka Swietlicka, Matthew Nicholas Stuttle, Sebastian Dörner, Alexandra Gherghina, Hassan Mansoor, Christian Brunschen, Richard Michael Farrell, Evelyn Kim, Samreen Dhillon, Federico Asara, Tyrone Nicholas
