  • Publication number: 20200113850
Abstract: Provided are processes for the prevention or treatment of viral infection in a subject. Some aspects provide administration of a sphingoid compound, optionally sphingosine, an active ingredient that activates generation of a sphingoid base, optionally of sphingosine; or an active agent that inhibits the degradation of a sphingoid base, optionally of sphingosine, to a subject such as a human. By increasing the local concentration of sphingosine in a subject or an area of a subject to which the composition is administered such as the nose or interior of the nose or portion thereof, the ability of viruses to infect the subject or cells thereof is reduced thereby treating of preventing infection by the virus.

  • Patent number: 9496545
Abstract: A particulate lithium metal/lithium sulfide composite material, to a method for producing a Li2S@C-coated lithium metal product, and to the use of said lithium metal product. The particulate lithium metal/lithium sulfide composite material has a core-shell morphology, the shell of which is made of a lithium sulfide containing C and the core of which is made of metal lithium. According to the method, the particulate lithium metal/lithium sulfide composite material is produced by reacting melted, drop-shaped lithium metal in a hydrocarbon solvent with a sulfur source selected from the group CS2, S8, H2S, COS, SO, SO2 or mixtures thereof. The method products according to the invention are used to produce lithium battery electrodes.

  • Publication number: 20130094950
Abstract: A compressor unit includes a motor and a compressor in a casing of a gastight form. The casing houses the motor and the compressor. The motor includes a rotor surrounded by a stator which has an encapsulation formed on the inner diameter as a separating can, so that a medium being handled does not damage the stator. The separating can includes a polymer matrix which is reinforced using a plurality of fibers. The polymer matrix is at least partly a ceramic fiber reinforced polymer matrix. The plurality of fibers are formed as continuous filaments. The continuous filaments include the length of at least 30 mm.
