    Abstract: A wiping element made of a rubber-elastic or ductile-elastic material for the protection of components mobile against one another, wherein at least one wiping lip (2) is provided on a wiping ring (1). The wiping element has a protective lip (4), which is or can be fixed in a detachable fashion to the wiping ring (1). In a wiper arrangement (10), the wiping ring (1) is arranged position-stable on a first component and lies with the wiping lip (2) and the protective lip (4) adjacent to a second component. With the use of such a wiper arrangement (10) for the painting of components mobile against one another, at least one component is painted in the fixed state of the protective lip (4) and the protective lip (4) is then detached from the wiping ring (1).
