  • Publication number: 20240332485
Abstract: A method is proposed for manufacturing dry electrodes on a current collector with the aid of a roller system. The roller system includes at least three rollers and the current collector. A first roller and a second roller are rotated in opposite rotational directions. Powder is poured into a calender gap formed by the first rotating roller and the second rotating roller, the powder being carried on the second roller. A signal is triggered with the aid of a control unit for setting a laminating gap between the second roller and the third roller, the third roller and/or the first roller and the second roller moving toward each other in the direction of the current collector. At least the third roller is rotated in the opposite direction of the second roller. The current collector is moved through the laminating gap.

  • Publication number: 20240322114
Abstract: A process arrangement for producing an electrode of a battery cell using dry forming, with a film forming/laminating process in which an electrode active material in the form of a solvent-free dry film powder can be laminated onto one or both sides of a substrate as a dry film, forming the electrode. The film forming/laminating process is followed by a compression process, in which the dry film laminated to the substrate can be compressed to a target density.

  • Publication number: 20240217226
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for manufacturing an electrode with a substrate and with a first dry film, wherein to form a first dry film, solvent-free dry film material is brought into a first nip formed between a first roller and a second roller. The first dry film formed in the first nip is conveyed roller-borne into a second nip formed between the second roller and a third roller and compressed there. For laminating, the compressed first dry film and the substrate are conveyed into a third nip formed between the third roller and a fourth roller, wherein the first dry film is conveyed roller-borne into the third nip. Moreover, the disclosure relates to a corresponding device for manufacturing the electrode.

  • Publication number: 20240170637
Abstract: A method for the production of an electrode for a battery cell, with a coating process in which a current collector foil is coated with electrode material by means of a discharge system. The discharge system has a pair of rollers with rotating calender rollers spaced from each other by a roller gap. A powdered output component of the electrode material in the dry state is filled into a roller gap feed section and compacted in the roller gap under pressure and shear to form an electrode material film, which is applied to the current collector foil. The discharge system ensures a temporally and spatially constant and/or adjustable powder dosing into the roller gap.

  • Patent number: 9005833
Abstract: The invention relates to a system having high-temperature fuel cells, for example SOFCs. A reformer connected upstream of the high-temperature fuel cells at the anode side, a start burner for the preheating of the cathodes of the high-temperature fuel cells, an afterburner and an operating heat exchanger are present at the system in accordance with the invention. Oxidizing agent can be supplied to the high-temperature fuel cell cathodes through the operating heat exchanger. In addition, it can be heated with the exhaust gas of the high-temperature fuel cells. Exhaust gas conducted through the operating heat exchanger can flow in an exhaust gas line together with environmental air and can then be conducted away into the environment as cooled exhaust gas.

  • Patent number: 8895201
Abstract: The invention relates to a high-temperature fuel cell system having a start burner. Such fuel cell systems are in particular operated at temperatures between 650° C. and 1000° C. due to the ion-conductive properties of the electrolytes used. It is necessary for this reason to carry out a heating before the actual operation of the systems, which takes place by an external supply of energy. The exhaust gas of a start burner of the high-temperature fuel cell system is supplied to a heat exchanger or to two heat exchangers in a series connection for the preheating of an oxidizing agent which can be supplied to at least one fuel cell at the cathode side.
