  • Patent number: 11874154
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for a fuel delivery system and a fuel level sensor assembly thereof. In one example, a fuel level sensor includes a wiper assembly with spring-loaded wiper contacts. Cylindrical springs are provided between a wiper housing and the contacts to bias the wiper contacts into contact with a resistive card.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: January 16, 2024
    Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLC
Inventors: José David Mondragón Avelar, Sebastian Rosas Contreras, Miguel Angel Benitez Torreblanca, Tanya Stephany Soriano Canchola
  • Patent number: 11674840
Abstract: A fluid-level sensor includes a housing, a substrate supported by the housing and defining an arcuate slot completely though a thickness of the substrate, and electrically conductive traces disposed on a backside of the substrate. A wiper assembly is disposed adjacent to a front side of the substrate and includes an arm pivotal relative to the substrate and a wiper attached to the arm. The wiper has an elongate neck extending through the slot and a head attached to the neck and in contact with the traces to close an electric circuit, wherein the wiper is configured to move along the slot and slide across the traces responsive to pivoting of the arm to vary resistance of the electric circuit to output a fluid-level reading.

  • Patent number: 11511659
Abstract: A vehicle assembly includes, among other things, a lighting assembly moveable back and forth between an attached position and a detached position. The lighting assembly spans from a first rail assembly of a vehicle to a second rail assembly of the vehicle when the lighting assembly is in the attached position. A vehicle lighting method includes, when a lighting assembly is in an attached position, engaging a first end portion of the lighting assembly with a first rail assembly of a vehicle, and when the lighting assembly is in the attached position, engaging an opposite, second end portion of the lighting assembly with a second rail assembly of the vehicle. The lighting assembly is configured to illuminate an area adjacent a vehicle when the lighting assembly is in the attached position.
