  • Patent number: 7339531
Abstract: Various resonant modes of a multiresonant antenna structure share at least portions of the structure volume. The basic antenna element has a substantially planar structure with a planar conductor and a pair of parallel elongated conductors, each having a first end electrically connected to the planar conductor. Additional elements may be coupled to the basic element in an array. In this way, individual antenna structures share common elements and volumes, thereby increasing the ratio of relative bandwidth to volume.

  • Publication number: 20070229376
Abstract: An antenna configured for low frequency applications on a mobile device includes an antenna element coupled to a conductive structure which, in turn, is coupled to the user of the mobile device such that the user of the mobile device effectively becomes part of the antenna. The conductive structure can include, for example, the device housing being made from a conductive material, a conductive structure embedded inside the device housing, or conductive pads exposed in the device housing. The antenna element is electrically connected to the conductive structure and the user can be coupled to the conductive structure either through direct contact or through capacitive coupling. In addition, the antenna can include an active element configured to boost free space operation efficiency. • Patent number: 7123209
Abstract: A differential antenna structure configured to connect to an electronic circuit having differential inputs and output. The antenna structure includes differential feeding points which are connected to the electronic circuit differential inputs/outputs through capacitors thus eliminating the need for baluns. The antenna structure is also configured to connect to multiple differential inputs/outputs thus eliminating the need for a separate antenna for each differential input/output included on an electronic circuit chip set. The antenna structure can include feeding arms which act as differential feeding points. The antenna can also include tongues for adjusting the capacitive part of the antenna to allow for 1 to n frequencies. The antenna can comprise multiple antenna elements in various arrangements and configurations.

  • Publication number: 20060220966
Abstract: An antenna comprising an antenna element and a counterpoise. The antenna element is positioned to minimize capacitive coupling between the antenna element and the counterpoise. In one embodiment no portion of the antenna element overlaps the counterpoise decreasing the distributed capacitance between the antenna element and the counterpoise and increasing the effective bandwidth of the antenna. The antenna element can be configured to couple with substantially all of the counterpoise to radiate at a resonant frequency.

  • Patent number: 7084813
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments of antenna elements and antenna element arrangements provide a generally low profile, improved isolation, and providing a larger bandwidth. Certain disclosed antenna elements provide a reduction in the footprint of the antenna elements while maintaining the performance characteristics by providing a greater surface area on either a top, middle or bottom portion of a CLMD antenna. Other disclosed antenna element arrangements provide improved radiation efficiency by providing metallic reflectors on the sides of antenna elements. The isolation characteristics of certain disclosed antenna elements are improved through the use of coplanar wave guides. The bandwidth may be improved through the use of stubs resonators. The bandwidth of the antenna elements may be improved without reducing isolation or shielding by providing a variable gap between two portions of the antenna elements.

  • Patent number: 7012568
Abstract: Various resonant modes of a multiresonant antenna structure share at least portions of the structure volume. The basic antenna element has a ground plane and a pair of spaced-apart conductors electrically connected to the ground plane. Additional elements are coupled to the basic element, such as by stacking, nesting or juxtaposition in an array. In this way, individual antenna structures share common elements and volumes, thereby increasing the ratio of relative bandwidth to volume.
