  • Patent number: 10226644
Abstract: In a method and system for planning irradiation of a patient for therapy, a first time series acquired from computed tomography scan data of the patient is provided to a processor, as is a second time series acquired from magnetic resonance scan data of the patient. A first parameter that characterizes the first time series is acquired, as is a second parameter that characterizes the second time series. The first time series and the second time series are combined in the processor using the first parameter and the second parameter. An irradiation plan is calculated in the processor using the combined first time series and second time series.

  • Publication number: 20180350074
Abstract: A method and device for determining a flow situation in a vessel are disclosed. According to an embodiment of the method, a first image data set containing image information relating to the vessel is used and a vascular tree of the vessel is segmented based upon the first image data set. An organ is also segmented based upon the first image data set or of a second image data set and the organ is assigned at least one area of a parenchyma of the organ. Via texture analysis, a texture of the area of the organ is determined and, depending on the texture, the area of the organ is assigned a flow characteristic. Depending on the vascular tree and the flow characteristic assigned to the area of the organ, a value of a measured variable characteristic of the flow situation within the vessel is then determined via a numerical method.

  • Patent number: 10143853
Abstract: In a method and system for planning a brachytherapy treatment, magnetic resonance image data of a patient are acquired by operating a magnetic resonance scanner according to a magnetic resonance sequence that designates an examination volume. An area of the patient is positioned in the examination volume such that the magnetic resonance image data contain at least a part of at least one applicator for the brachytherapy, which is located in the patient. The magnetic resonance sequence includes measurement parameters that lead to a contrast between the at least one applicator and surrounding tissue in the magnetic resonance image data. The position of the at least one applicator in the magnetic resonance image data is extracted, and a radiation treatment plan is created using the extracted position of the at least one applicator.

  • Publication number: 20180342057
Abstract: A first image data set of a patient is provided to a computer, and the computer performs a first analysis of the first image data set using a first analysis algorithm that is designed for an analysis purpose. After completion of the first analysis, a second analysis algorithm is added to a database to which the computer has access, so that the second analysis algorithm is now available for access by the computer. The second analysis algorithm is designed for the same purpose as the first analysis algorithm. After the second analysis algorithm has been added to the database, a second image dataset of the patient is provided to the computer. Even though the second analysis algorithm is now available to the computer for the same analysis purpose as the first analysis algorithm, the computer automatically defaults to use the first analysis algorithm to perform a second analysis of the second image data set.
