  • Publication number: 20110152615
Abstract: A surgical manipulator includes an intracorporeal unit that is completely arrangeable within a body cavity and that includes a coupling member and an effector. An extracorporeal unit includes a manipulator to manipulate at least the effector, and a connecting unit for connecting the intracorporeal unit to the extracorporeal unit when the intracorporeal unit is arranged within the body cavity and for transferring manipulating activities from the extracorporeal unit to the intracorporeal unit.

  • Patent number: 7828730
Abstract: A device for hemorrhage detection comprising a detector for detecting the presence of blood, the detector being connected to a fixing, apparatus. The fixing apparatus is fixed to the inner wall of a hollow organ. The device further has a transmitting unit by which data transmitted by the detector are adapted to be transmitted to a receiving unit disposed outside the body.

  • Patent number: 7698961
Abstract: The ability of a person to grasp an object and at the same time to feel, as well as to determine mechanical and geometric parameters of the comprehended object, makes him or her irreplaceable for many tasks, i.e. in production or in surgery. The translation of this ability into a technological system has often failed up to now due to lack of special adjusted sensors. The object of this invention is a sensory device, which fulfills the requirements for a tactile sensor system and at the same time affords a cost-effective and simple manufacturing alternative to other sensor principles. The layer structure of the sensor element is so constructed that by effect of an external force of the current by a resistive layer a path is disposed to narrowing or enlargement. The voltage drop over this resistive layer is dependent upon the acting external force and serves as signal sensor.

  • Publication number: 20080097182
Abstract: A device for hemorrhage detection comprising a detecting means for detecting the presence of blood, said detecting means being connected to a fixing means. The fixing means is fixed to the inner wall of a hollow organ. The device further has a transmitting unit by which the data transmitted by the detecting means are adapted to be transmitted to a receiving unit disposed outside the body.

  • Publication number: 20080051802
Abstract: An insertion aid for medical instruments includes a shaft having a proximal end, a distal end, and a bending part, and a tension element for actuating the bending part. The bending part includes structures which allow a bending in at least one desired direction different from an extension direction of the shaft. The shaft further comprises an outer tube element and an inner tube element supported in the outer tube element so as to be axially movable. The tension element is hinged to one of the inner and outer tube elements and the bending part is provided at a distal end of the other of the inner and outer tube elements.

  • Publication number: 20050283107
Abstract: The present invention describes a medical implant for treating pathological obesity, which is adapted to modify and, as an alternative, to bypass the natural food passage in the digestive tract. In contrast to purely surgical methods of food bypassing, the properties of the present implant permit an adjustable bypassing of food into the small intestine and/or into the stomach (natural digestive path). Since the ratio of this bypass is adjustable in the course of the treatment by the physician, e.g. with the aid of an endoscope, for the first time a balance between the therapeutic effect and the side-effects can be adapted individually to each patient by the use of the implant. The present invention is a hollow body 1 comprising a first and a second tubular end portion 2, 3 and at least one third lateral opening having a hose-like extension 8. It is provided that individual, at least partly closable hose-like extensions 8 differ in their ability to allow the passage of food into the stomach 11.
