  • Publication number: 20040133373
Abstract: The invention relates to a position measuring device (100), which supplies a multidigit code word (P) to a numeric control (300) via a serial interface (14). To determine the current functional state of the position measuring device (100) instantaneous values of analogue sampled signals (S6, S7) are also serially transmitted as multidigit amplitude-proportional code words (D6, D7). Said code words (D6, D7) are supplied to a diagnostic device (200), which displays a Lissajous figure (201) derived from said words, or independently performs an evaluation and generates warnings or alarms.

  • Publication number: 20040040139
Abstract: A length measuring system that includes a length measuring device and at least one mounting element, which exerts an attractive force between a support and the length measuring device. One or more of the at least one mounting element are of such a size that a frictional force, which is a function of a total attractive force, assures on one hand an adhesion of the length measuring device to the support and, on another hand, also assures displaceablity of the length measuring device along the support during mounting.

  • Patent number: 6571486
Abstract: A linear measuring device having a mounting fixture (1), in which a scale (2) is supported is described. Scale (2) is coupled to the mounting fixture (1) in one plane (N1) of the mounting fixture (1), which contains the neutral axis (N) of the mounting fixture (1) and which runs in parallel with the surface of the scale (2) bearing the graduation scale (3). This arrangement reduces perturbations transmitted to scale (2).

  • Patent number: 6470577
Abstract: An angle measuring device having a graduation carrier, a scanning plate, a detector arrangement on a stationary element for measuring a rotational position of the graduation carrier with respect to the scanning plate around a first axis of rotation, wherein the scanning plate with the graduation carrier is rotatable with respect to the detector arrangement around a second axis of rotation; and the first and second axes of rotation extend parallel with respect to each other and are radially distanced from each other.

  • Publication number: 20020124665
Abstract: A securing arrangement for transporting and mounting a measuring system used for the determination of the position of two components, which can be moved relative to each other. The securing arrangement includes a base body, which is linearly displaced along a displacement direction via a guide track of a support body of a measuring graduation of the measuring system and is fixed in place on the support body by clamping forces in order to maintain a mounting base that fastens a scanning device to one of the two components in a desired position in relation to the support body. A service element is provided on the base body and having an operating section for introducing and/or canceling the clamping forces, wherein the operating section of the service element laterally protrudes past a surface of the base body which faces away from the support body and is laterally bordered by a lateral edge, when the base body is fastened on the support body.

  • Patent number: 6446350
Abstract: A measurement system is described having parts that are not joined directly to the machine being measured, so that a change in the geometry of the machine cannot result in a shifting of the measurement systems relative to one another. The shifting of the measurement systems with respect to one another can also be compensated for by determining the change in the geometry of the machine and of the measurement systems, and compensating the measured value errors in accordance with a mathematical model for the change in geometry.

  • Patent number: 6272766
Abstract: A length measuring instrument having a scale which can be scanned by a scanner device is provided. The scale is rotatably supported in an end region about the measurement axis X by a pivot bearing. The scanner device is guided on the scale so that rotations of the scanner device are transmitted to the scale. A length measuring instrument of this can be used especially advantageously in telescoping arms of a hexapod machine.
